A closure device deployment device comprising:a sliding member connected to the inside of a housing, and slidable within the housing between a first position and a second position in the distal direction along the longitudinal axis upon the application of a first force in the distal direction;a sheath assembly extending along the longitudinal axis comprising a proximal end which is fixed to a distal end of housing;a pusher tube extending along the longitudinal axis comprising a proximal end which is connected to a distal end of said sliding member and located concentrically within said sheath, wherein said pusher tube is movable along the longitudinal axis upon the application of the first force on said sliding member;a filament extending along the longitudinal axis and located in an annulus between said sheath and said pusher tube;a footplate connected to the distal end of said filament and extending along a plane that is parallel to the longitudinal axis, and structured to be within a distal end of said sheath assembly when the sliding member is in the first position and outside of the sheath when the sliding member is in the second position;a bias member connected to the distal end of the sliding member such that when the sliding member is moved between the first position and the second position, the bias member is compressed and then when the force is released from the sliding member after the second position, the sliding member retracts proximally to a third position such that said pusher tube retracts proximally inside of said sheath, leaving said footplate outside of said sheath and in a position substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.2. A deployment catheter is described herein that preferably is configured to deliver a medical device such as a valve to a location in a patient such as a patient's airway. Preferably, such a deployment catheter is configured to be used in conjunction with a bronchoscope. In some embodiments, a locking lever is provided to reduce the likelihood of accidental deployment of the device, and which resets conveniently after use to as to permit multiple device deployments. 1. A method of deploying a medical device in a patient lung , the method comprising:loading the medical device into a cavity disposed in the distal tip portion of a deployment catheter;introducing the deployment catheter into a bronchoscope;inserting the bronchoscope into a lung airway;navigating the bronchoscope to a portion of the lung airway to be treated;aligning the portion of the lung airway to be treated with at least one localization marker disposed on the distal tip portion of the deployment catheter;unlocking a locking lever on the deployment catheter; anddeploying the medical device to the portion of the lung airway to be treated.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the locking lever is reset to a locked position after deployment of the device.3. A tympanostomy tube delivery device comprises a drive assembly and a force limiting shaft assembly. The shaft assembly comprises a cannula and a piercer operable to translate relative to the cannula so as to pierce the tympanic membrane of a patient. The piercer is mechanically coupled with the drive assembly such that actuation of the drive assembly causes translation of the piercer relative to the cannula. The piercer is mechanically coupled with the drive assembly by a clutch. The clutch is resiliently biased to couple the piercer with the drive assembly. The clutch is configured to uncouple the piercer from the drive assembly in response to a threshold force being imposed upon the piercer so as to inhibit translation of piercer relative to the cannula.

A suture cutter device is disclosed. Embodiments provide a cutting tip capable of cutting higher strength sutures such as UHMWPE based sutures. A shaft includes a cutting tip with a low profile capable of use in minimally invasive procedures with tiny incisions. The tip may include for example a slot, nook, or tunnel to hold a suture.
