In one example, a sense path arbitration module identifies a lead-related condition associated with a conductive pathway based on signal processing to identify transients emerging from a propagated signal. The sense path arbitration module may evaluate a plurality of conductive pathways of the medical electrical lead and arbitrates propagation of a sensed signal that is transmitted through the plurality of lead conductors based on the evaluation. Therapy delivery functions utilizing the medical electrical lead may also be controlled in response to the signal processing and identification of the lead-related condition on a conductive pathway.

Knitting machines are used to intermesh conductive yarns into loops resulting in knitted fabrics. The knitting machine is adapted to import different types of yarns (conductive and non-conductive) directly into the knit structure. Combining conductive yarns and knitting systems allows for integration of electrical or mechanical component designs into existing clothing fabrication processes, avoiding current limitations of attaching or gluing conductive fabrics or other components over various materials. Starting with a planar design of an antenna, RFID tag, or some other electronic structure, the layout is converted into a CAD knitting program including a grid representing stitches. The CAD specifications of the final design/product are exported to the knitting machines so that the knitting machine may make conductive fabrics in accordance with the CAD specifications. The conductive fabrics are knitted into a variety of garments that monitor the vital signs of the wearer, including the fetus of an expectant mother.

A method for reconfirming an initial position of a distal end of a catheter tube positioned in a patient , the catheter tube part of a catheter assembly , the method comprising:detecting an intravascular ECG signal via an inner conductive pathway in a lumen of the catheter tube;detecting a reference ECG signal via an outer conductive pathway deposited on an outer surface of the catheter tube;determining a current position of the distal end of the catheter tube based on detection of the intravascular ECG signal and the reference ECG signal; andcomparing the current position of the distal end of the catheter tube with the initial position of the distal end of the catheter tube.2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein detection of the intravascular ECG signal and the reference ECG signal produces a lead configuration according to Einthoven's triangle of electrocardiography.3. A first ECG electrode is positioned at the outer surface of said substrate and a second ECG electrode is positioned at the inner (or outer) surface of the said substrate in contact with the finger (or the adjacent finger if the electrode is on the outer surface), whereby the two ECG electrodes receives a single-lead ECG signal when the first electrode is touched to the patient's body. Touching different locations on the body or wearing multiple rings can provide multi-lead ECG measurements. The ring shape can be converted to a wearable patch for continuous ECG measurements.
