Macroscopically expanded three-dimensional polymeric web for transmitting both dynamically deposited and statically contacted fluids from one surface to the other

Номер: US4637819A
Принадлежит: Procter and Gamble Co

A macroscopically expanded, three-dimensional fluid-handling polymeric web having first and second surfaces located in substantially parallel planes which are remote from one another. The web includes a multiplicity of fluid-handling capillary networks of macroscopic cross-section for rapidly transmitting fluids which are dynamically deposited on the first surface of said web to the second surface of said web using the dynamic and gravitational head of the fluid as a primary driving force. Each of the macroscopic cross-section capillary networks originates as an aperture in the first surface of the web and has a continuously interconnected sidewall extending in the direction of the second surface of said web. The continuously interconnected sidewall terminates to form at least one aperture in the second surface of said web, whereby the bulk of the dynamically deposited fluid is transmitted from the first surface to the second surface of said web by the macroscopic cross-section capillary networks. The first surface of the web in which the macroscopic cross-section capillary networks originate further includes a multiplicity of fluid-handling capillary networks which are substantially smaller in cross-section than the macroscopic cross-section fluid-handling capillary networks. The smaller fluid-handling capillary networks exhibit a degree of capillary suction sufficient to transmit static fluid contained on the surface of objects which contact the first surface of said web generally in the direction of the second surface of said web by capillary attraction.

Multi-layered non-woven structure for use as component of disposable absorbent products

Номер: RU2757191C1
Принадлежит: Тве Мёлебеке

FIELD: layered products. SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to multi-layered non-woven structures used as components of disposable absorbent products and clothing, containing superabsorbing particles and, thus, acting as a core. Thus, the invention provides a possibility of penetration of the biological bodily fluids from the first layer acting as a reception layer into the third layer containing SAP particles, wherein the second non-woven layer serves to reduce the volume of liquid per unit surface as a standard dispersion layer. However, the second layer of the invention additionally acts as a return valve, preventing or at least strongly limiting any transfer of liquid from the third to the first layer. SAP-free channels can be additionally constructed to improve the input properties and the rewetting property of the multi-layered non-woven sheet material with a reception and distribution layer. EFFECT: production of multi-layered non-woven structures for use as components of disposable absorbent products and clothing. RU 2650061 C2, 06.04.2018. Perforated elastomeric soft film and wound dressing made therewith

Номер: US4867150A
Автор: Eugene C. Gilbert
Принадлежит: BF Goodrich Corp

The perforations in a film-faced wound dressing have been discovered to have edges which, though clearly defined, lack the ability to cut the neoepithelium of a healing wound, with the result that the film affords an unexpectedly high degree of comfort during movement of the patient-and most particularly, when the dressing is changed. This occurs in a thin, soft, self-supporting elastomeric film, such as a polyether polyurethane (PPU) film, having less than l0% crystallinity. The film provides a degree of conformability not attained heretofore; has a softness and elastomeric quality which results in reduced shear associated with the edges of its perforations as compared with the sharp cutting edges of perforations in plastic film; has excellent release characteristics enhanced by less than 25% open area (due to perforations) which minimizes the open area into which the neoepithelium may grow.
