Absorbent articles, such as generally thin, flexible sanitary napkins, are provided having a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core. The absorbent article has a directional fluid distribution means, such as a fluid control strip located between the topsheet and the absorbent core, and an absorbent strip located between the topsheet and the fluid control strip. The ointment relationship between the fluid control strip and the absorbent strip is such that the width of the fluid control strip is greater than the width of the absorbent strip and the length of the absorbent strip is greater than the length of the fluid control strip, so that the sanitary napkin is in compliance with the body. Human secretions may be controlled towards the end of the absorbent core, even when shaped or twisted.

Absorbent core

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: absorbent core for absorbent products, e.g. for menstrual or blood absorption. The absorbent core comprises a carrier layer bearing an absorbent polymer layer bearing an adhesive layer. The carrier layer, the coating layer or both can comprise a composite of at least a first layer and a third layer of fibrous non-woven fabrics. The above first layer and the above third layer contain synthetic fibres with an average denier of fibres from approximately 1 to approximately 6.0. The above composite additionally comprises a second layer containing a pulp; the composite layers are arranged in the following order: the first - the second - the third, and coupled together by network of the fibres of the respective layers that can be ensured by e.g. hydro entangling. The above first and third layers of the above composite can be made of spunbond fibres. EFFECT: more effective use of the absorbent core, better collection of fluid discharges, flexible skin fit.
