An absorbent core (28) for use in an absorbent article includes a core cover (16, 16') enclosing an absorbent material (60) comprising particles of superabsorbent polymer. The core wrap includes a top side (16) and a bottom side (16'), and the absorbent core includes one or more areas (26) substantially free of absorbent material through which the top side of the core wrap is attached to the bottom side of the core wrap so that when the absorbent material swells, the core wrap forms one or more channels (26') along the or area(s) (26) substantially free of absorbent material. The superabsorbent polymer particles exhibit a time to reach 20 g/g absorption (T20) of less than 240 sec as measured by the K(t) test method.

In the absorbent portion of the absorbent article, the superabsorbent material located between the two sheets in the absorbent zone swells by the absorption of moisture in the excrement and extends in the longitudinal direction from the opening, facing the wearer's crotch region. Spaces formed in a portion of the layer are formed between the non-absorbent region and the upper absorbent layer where no superabsorbent material is present, and between the non-absorbent region and the lower absorbent layer. In the absorbent article, through the space, the moisture of the second excretion and thereafter can quickly spread over a wide area along the longitudinal direction of the absorbent part, and the moisture of the excrement can be absorbed in the wide area of the absorbent part. As a result, it is possible to maintain high absorption capacity in multiple excretion in absorbent products.
