A backsheet overlays the topsheet, with the backsheet defining an exterior face of the disposable absorbent product configured to face away from the wearer during use. An absorbent core is disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet for storing fluid secreted by the wearer of the disposable absorbent product. The absorbent core includes at least one absorbent structure and a wrapping element that envelops the at least one absorbent structure. The wrapping element has a main substrate layer and an adhesive coating layer thereon that is substantially adhered to the substrate layer and which defines an impermeable film layer on the substrate.

The present invention preferably provides a method and apparatus for depositing and positioning particulate materials in a desired pattern onto a moving carrier layer. The method allows accurate forming of a pattern of particulate material clusters at high production speed having improved attachment properties, with reduced raw material usage and relative low cost. The present invention foresees in the need for improved thin, flexible, lightweight absorbent structure having optimal absorption, distribution and retention. 1. A process for producing an absorbent structure comprising the following steps:providing a carrier layer;depositing and positioning absorbent material onto the carrier layer according to a pocketing pattern of absorbent material clusters with substantially no absorbent material in between the absorbent material clusters;providing an auxiliary layer covering the absorbent material so as to form a sandwich structure of the carrier layer, the auxiliary layer and the absorbent material;attaching an adhesive to the carrier layer and/or to the auxiliary layer prior to the bringing together of the sandwich structure;after the bringing together of the sandwich structure, attaching the carrier layer to the auxiliary layer to provide substantially permanent primary bonding regions and substantially detachable or temporary secondary bonding regions which are substantially free of absorbent material; said secondary bonding regions being configured to release under the swelling force of the absorbent materials and/or under the influence of water.2. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1 , wherein the inner leg cuff has an opacity of from about 15% to about 50% hunter opacity and the outer leg cuff has an opacity of from about 45% to about 75% hunter opacity.7. A disposable absorbent article is provided having an absorbent core located in a chassis and including absorbent particulate polymer material defining at least one cavity for improved isolation of fecal matter or other body exudates. The absorbent core may be substantially cellulose free. Methods for making such an absorbent core and corresponding disposable absorbent article are also disclosed. 1. A disposable absorbent article comprising:a chassis including a top sheet and a back sheet; andan absorbent core located between the top sheet and the back sheet and comprising absorbent particulate polymer material,wherein the absorbent core is substantially cellulose free and comprises at least one cavity having a perimeter partially defined by the absorbent particulate polymer material.2. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1 , wherein the at least one cavity has a void volume from about 2 ml in a dry state to about 70 ml in a saturated state.3. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1 , wherein the absorbent particulate polymer material present in the absorbent core has a basis weight that varies across the absorbent core in a direction substantially perpendicular to a central longitudinal axis claim 1 , in a direction substantially parallel to the central longitudinal axis claim 1 , or in both directions.4. The present invention relates to disposable absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins, panty liners, baby diapers, adult incontinence articles and sweat pads. According to the present invention the absorbent article in the region designated for liquid deposition on its wearer facing surface has a single layer topsheet onto which liquid to be absorbed is provided during use of the article. The absorbent article includes a backsheet forming the liquid barrier surface and a unitary absorbent core between the topsheet and the backsheet. Importantly the unitary core provides improved liquid handling to the absorbent article and increases the masking, i.e. ability to hide stains due to absorbed liquid, of the article. This is particularly beneficial in the context of articles for absorption of liquids with high color intensity, such as menstrual liquid or urine of older adults. 1.
