A patient support system for a wheelchair is provided. At least a portion of the patient support system components form a no-air-loss patient support surface. At least one fluid pump can supply air pressure to a plurality of no-air-loss air cells, and at least one pressure release valve can release air pressure from the no-air-loss air cells. A computer can compare air pressure within the air cells to a desired air pressure set point and can modulate the air pressure by actuating the at least one fluid pump and/or the at least one pressure release valve to bring the air pressure within the air cells to a desired air pressure. After the initial air pressure adjustments are made and the desired air pressure is achieved, no further adjustments during the operation are able to be made by the computer so that the patient positioned thereon the patient support system will not be moved by the patient support system during an operation. 1. A universal reclining armrest system for use with an articulated examination chair. The system includes an armrest adapter having a universal aperture for receiving a post portion of an armrest assembly. The wheelchair includes a seat assembly having a seat and a backrest and an actuator assembly having a plurality of actuators. Each actuator can expand and retract and includes a first end pivotably connected to the base assembly and a second end pivotably connected to the seat assembly. The actuator assembly allows for at least four degrees of movement of the seat assembly with respect to the base assembly. The wheelchair includes a computer that is connected to the actuators and that controls the movement of the actuators. The computer moves the actuators to vary the position of the seat assembly with respect to the base assembly. 1. An adjustable backrest support provides a seat back angle adjustment that eases the task of adjusting the position of a wheelchair backrest while keeping the user seated in their wheelchair. In one embodiment, the adjustable backrest support includes a strut, an adjuster ring, an adjusting barrel nut, an angle adjuster, and a clamping system including a clamp. The clamp may include clamping screws that permit adjustment of the seat back reclining angle the angle or the seat back lateral position when loosened.

An exemplary power driven vehicle has a take-apart frame comprising a front frame and a rear frame that are detachably and pivotally connected together. The front frame includes means for receiving at least one steerable wheel and a steering mechanism and means for receiving a seat, and the rear frame includes means for receiving at least two drive wheels. The vehicle also has at least one steerable wheel, a steering mechanism, and a seat connected to said front frame. At least two drive wheels are pivotally connected to said rear frame via a single axle. An electric motor is mounted on the rear frame and adapted to drive at least one of the drive wheels. A shroud partially covers the front frame and is fixedly connected thereto. At least one battery box is detachably mounted on the shroud and is in electrical communication with the electric motor. A locking and unlocking means of the vehicle is adapted to prevent, or alternatively allow, the disconnection of the rear frame from the front frame. The locking and unlocking means comprises a locking lever pivotally connected to the front frame. At least one groove or recess in the locking means engages the rear frame when the vehicle is in its normal position, thus preventing the rear frame from pivoting relative to the front frame. In an unlocking position the rear frame is allowed to pivot relative to the front frame, thereby allowing the rear from to be disconnected from the front frame.
