In an embodiment, a mechanical device is presented in which a physical object is attached to a motion mechanism which moves horizontally from left to right. In another embodiment, an electrical device is presented in which a computer-simulated object travels horizontally across a visual component. In a further embodiment, a computer software application is presented to track eye movements. The subject tracks the movement of the object with his eyes for a specific number of cycles in order to eliminate negative body sensations such as post-traumatic stress disorder. The device of the present invention may be used for sensation processing by the general public and may be used for ART by a trained therapist.
