An instrument, article and method are provided for minimizing pain during administration by injection of a liquid, such as, an anesthetic. The instrument has a forward end. A lightpipe mounted freely for vibration projects out of the forward end. The article, a single use tip, is composed of a tip sleeve removably mounted on the forward end of the instrument and a tip member removably mounted on the projecting lightpipe to vibrate a preselected injection site on a human or animal. The tip sleeve and tip member are covered by an elastic overmold that enables the tip member to vibrate freely with respect to the tip sleeve and light from the lightpipe to illuminate the injection site. A vibration unit mounted in the instrument is coupled to the lightpipe. The method is carried out by imparting vibrations and illumination via the lightpipe to the tip member.

The chair-type massage apparatus is characterized in that, when placed with its back facing a room wall, it can be located near the wall and, when its seat is made movable back-and-forth, the leg kneading device mounted at the front of the seat can be used without being obstructed by the back-and-forth movement. The chair-type massage apparatus 1 comprises the seat 2 , the base frame 6 , and the backrest 3 reclinably mounted at the rear of the seat. During reclining, the upper end of the backrest moves vertically along one vertical line. The leg kneading device is mounted at the front of the seat. An aperture is formed in the first half to provide a portal to the hollow chamber of the bivalve shell. A reactant is disposed inside the hollow chamber of the bivalve shell. The reactant may be a reactive powder mixture disposed inside a fluid-permeable pouch. Combining the reactant with an activator inside the hollow chamber of the bivalve shell causes an exothermic reaction that heats the bivalve shell and maintains the bivalve shell at a substantially constant elevated temperature for a duration of time. The adhesive adhering the first shell half to the second shell half includes a first elastomeric polymer bonding agent with balanced coefficient of expansion properties and a second flexible resin sealant that makes the adhesive moisture-proof.

An apparatus for treating tissue , the apparatus comprising:a vacuum chamber having an opening, the vacuum chamber configured to, when placed proximate to the tissue, cause periodic movement of an area of the tissue raised towards the opening of the vacuum chamber;a vacuum pump coupled to the vacuum chamber, the vacuum pump configured to cause a sequence of vacuum pulses to be created in the vacuum chamber; andone or more energy transmitting elements to apply energy to at least a portion of the area of the tissue within the vacuum chamber, the one or more energy transmitting elements including:two or more energy transmitting elements from the set of: (1) at least one light source arranged to deliver light into the vacuum chamber, (2) one or more radio frequency energy transmitting elements arranged on rollers across the opening of the vacuum chamber, and (3) one or more ultrasound energy transmitting elements;wherein the one or more energy transmitting elements are configured to apply a sequence of energy pulses to the at least the portion of the raised area of the tissue when a computed vacuum level for the vacuum chamber exceeds a first threshold value and to terminate application of the energy to the at least the portion of the raised area of the tissue when the computed vacuum level for the vacuum chamber is at a second pre-determined threshold value; andwherein an energy pulse is applied for every n vacuum pulses, with n equaling an integer.2. The skin brush head of claim 1 , wherein the window portion is positioned within a void in the treatment applicator such that the window portion is visible by the user when viewed from the outer surface.3.
