A method for providing vestibular stimulation includes: providing an infant in a vestibular stimulation device; associating sensors to the infant; moving the vestibular stimulation device to provide vestibular stimulation treatment; and obtaining sensor data during the treatment. The vestibular stimulation device includes a holder member; a platform; a mechanical system coupling the holder member to the platform; sensors configured to detect one or more parameters of the infant; and a computing system having a user input and/or output interface operably coupled to the mechanical system and the sensors to provide mechanical data to the mechanical system in order to control movement of the holder member relative to the platform and to collect the one or more parameters of the living subject from the sensors. 1. An improved infant pacifier includes a nipple configured to trigger an infant's sucking reflex so as to provide a tool for nourishment and also a calming effect for an infant. An extension depends from a distal end of the nipple to a retainer portion that extends proximally from the extension and is spaced from the nipple. The retainer portion terminates in a proximal contact pad. When the nipple is in the child's mouth, the contact pad engages the child's skin under the chin. Preferably a biasing force gently urges the contact pad toward the nipple, maintaining engagement with the child's skin, and helping retain the nipple in the child's mouth even without any effort on the child's part to retain the nipple. Uni-molded pacifier includes nipple, stem, shield and typically a handle. The stem includes a round surface, as in classically designed pacifiers, or may be orthodontically shaped, extending proximally and longitudinally into a base which in turn is blended into a shield. Change in the base to stem contact angle lowers the applied force to the stem as compared to traditional pacifier stems and bases. The decrease in applied force to the stem equates to less pressure needed to compress the stem thru sucking activity. The shield, in this uni-molded pacifier, also has an increase in the area and mass of the center surface. Vibrating Oral Comfort Device and Method of Assembly

A child's oral comfort device such as a teether or pacifier includes a strap, such as a wrist band, a housing removably attached to the strap, and a mouth portion fixed to the housing. The housing has a base and a removable cap. Inside the base of the housing is a printed circuit board having a sensor, a timer, a vibrator motor, a power source and a controller. When the infant applies pressure to the mouth portion, the sensor responds and sends a signal to the controller that activates the vibrator to vibrate the mouth portion for a predetermined time. The controller then prevents the vibrator from vibrating until the child reactivates the device with more pressure to start the vibrating cycle again. When the removable cap is attached, the housing and mouth portion are sealed preventing liquid from coming into contact with printed circuit board or its components. A pacifier and teether assembly is disclosed. In one embodiment, the pacifier and teether assembly comprises a nipple, a shield and a teether manufactured as a one-piece assembly comprising a single molded piece of material. In one example embodiment, the nipple and teether are each contiguous to the shield, wherein the shield has a first face opposite a second face. The nipple extends from the first face of the shield. The teether extends from the second face of the shield. In one example embodiment, the pacifier and teething ring assembly is made of 100% medical grade silicone. Such 100% medical grade silicone is free of BPA, PVC, phthalates and latex. A method for using a pacifier and teether assembly is also disclosed.

Liquid Dispensing Pacifier with Interchangeable Parts

A liquid dispensing pacifier having interchangeable components is provided. The pacifier includes a hollow, porous nipple secured to a shield and having a base thereon for attachment to other components. The nipple can be disposed directly on the opening of a baby bottle for feeding, or to a syringe to facilitate administration of medicine. Alternatively, the pacifier can be secured to one end of an elongated straw and the straw can be threaded through a lid secured to a baby bottle and disposed within the liquid content therein. In this way, a baby can suck on the pacifier to draw liquid from the bottle without having to hold the bottle. Additionally, the straw can be secured to the pacifier, and the pacifier can be attached directly to a baby bottle to feed a baby in the conventional manner.
