The present invention is a process for producing various types of cannabis extract from harvested cannabis. A quantity of harvested cannabis, which typically includes the inflorescence, floral leaves, and small stems of a flowering cannabis plants, is pre-frozen and is first subjected to cryogenic grinding to produce pulverized cannabis. The pulverized cannabis is then subjected to butane extraction at a low temperature to produce an initial cannabis extract. The butane in the initial cannabis extract is removed by evaporating it from the mixture in a cold vacuum chamber. The process preserves desirable waxes and lipids and removes the butane from the extract without subjecting the extract to heating in order to preserve the integrity of the terpenoids and flavonoids in the extract.

The invention relates to a method for extraction and separation of cannabinoids from industrial hemp, designed for medicinal purposes, and also the preparation of an extract, not containing tetrahydrocannabinol, and the preparation of maximum refined individual cannabinoids. The advantage of the method according to the invention consists in the preparation of an extract from hemp, which contains at a high percentage medically useful cannabinoids and doesn't contain undesirable admixtures and tetrahydrocannabinol, so that it can be used without any restrictions as a pharmaceutical. Improved processes for extracting polyphenols and/or flavonoids from citrus peels are provided that comprise 1) heating a ground peel to form a pre-treated, ground peel; and 2) extracting the compounds of interest from the pre-treated, ground peel using a basic solution of pH greater than 7 and less than 12. Such processes serve to increase the efficiency of extraction of the polyphenols and/or flavonoids. In preferred embodiments, the flavonoids extracted include hesperidin and narirutin. This invention relates to the extraction of psychoactive compounds from fungus for use in medicine. Raw fungus is dried and ground. The solvent used for extraction is methanol or a hydro-methanol mixture, an acidic hydro-methanol mixture, or an alkaline hydro-methanol mixture. The extraction slurry is filtered and pH-adjusted if necessary. The methanol in the solvent is then completely evaporated and water added back, where necessary, to form a concentrated slurry.
