Mouthguard and tool

The mouthguard of the present invention is provided with at least one recess in its base to receive a projection of a tool. The tool being made from a material which retains its shape at a temperature when the material of the mouthguard is ductile and susceptible to remoulding. By placing the mouthguard and tool together in the mouth of the user the thinning of the depth of the base of the mouthguard can be minimised whilst still enabling shaping of the mouthguard.

Mouth Guard with Breathing and Drinking Aperture

A mouth guard includes a pair of spaced-apart molar receiving members with an inner wall extending therebetween. The inner wall is configured for insertion between a user's lips and teeth. An outer wall is configured to confront an exterior surface of the user's lips. A conduit extends between the inner and outer walls and includes a passage formed therethrough. The passage extends through the inner wall between the molar receiving members and extends through the outer wall whereby a user may breathe or drink through the passage.

Aerobic mouthguard adapted to permit larger oral osmosis while diffusing larger oral shock

An aerobic mouthguard having a plurality of treads intermittent to one of a plurality of recesses forming an oral footprint and or an opposite oral footprint for larger oral shock diffusion and larger oral osmotic equilibrium. Each oral footprint may comprise a plurality of ducts and v-cuts that taper toward their posterior end for retaining larger oral fluids. The aerobic mouthguard can comprise a single rigid footprint for stress related contact sports or a double elastic footprint for stress-free dental therapy and treatment. A tab defining a lip footprint can be forwardly part of the aerobic mouthguard, and a tether or a drool cup having one or more drool pads can be forwardly part of the tab for larger oral osmotic equilibrium to prevent tooth loss.

Awe jaw mouth piece/device

A dental guard has a first portion which is molded or shaped to conform to the teeth of either one of the upper or lower jaw, a second portion which is a resilient material having passages therethrough to permit passage of air, and a third portion adapted for contact with the other one of the upper or lower jaw. The dental guard provides enhanced TMJ stability, protects teeth, allows air flow for breathing, protects the airway from foreign objects, and allows compression in case of impact or necessity of swallowing.

Mouthguard

The present invention is a mouthguard that includes a mouthpiece portion which is made to fit inside the user's mouth and provides a protective connection with the user's teeth. A relatively short member is integrally formed with the front of the mouthpiece. This member provides clear visibility to the referee or official that the user is wearing a protective mouthguard, even with the user's mouth closed. This member also includes an opening at the front end for attachment with a helmet, face mask, headgear, or the like. The user can selectively attach the present invention as needed. The present invention provides better safety and hygiene.

A device worn by a user which protects the user's teeth while the user is engaged in physical activities having design elements and features. This invention includes a mouthguard, formed of a material having a color. The mouthguard is comprised of a U-shaped body and an embossed or extruded design feature extending from a surface of the mouthguard, the design feature and the U-shaped body form a single, monolithic structure. The design feature may be the same color as the mouthguard, or it may be of a different color. The design feature may be a graphic, a text, symbol, shape, logo or any other design. The diagnosed soft tissue or brain injury component of concussions is generally defined by the symptoms of the temporal lobe manifestations. A mouth guard designed to minimize discomfort and speech interference associated with conventional mouthpieces is disclosed. The mouth guard has a substantially uniform thickness on the facial/buccal and biting surfaces of the anterior and posterior teeth, and along the lingual surface of the posterior teeth. The thickness of the mouth guard along the lingual surface of the anterior teeth is greater near the biting surface than near the gum line. This minimizes interference with the wearer's tongue, making it relatively easy to drink, speak, and breathe, while protecting the anterior and posterior teeth from impact from the front or underneath. The mouth guard can be a boil-and-bite or custom-made mouth guard, and can also include an impact shield, one or more power wedges or shock absorbers, a flavoring component, and/or an antibacterial component. 1. Articulator

An articulator provides for a wearer to bite it between the teeth in the upper jaw and the teeth in the lower jaw. In various aspects, the dental appliance may include a body removably attachable to one or more teeth selected from premolars and molars, and a flange extending forth from lingual portions of the body to contact a tongue at one or more locations proximate the premolars and the molars in order to cause a contraction of the genioglossus that positions the tongue anteriorly and downward toward the mandible by stimulation of the hypoglossal nerve. The diagnosed soft tissue or brain injury component of concussions is generally defined by the symptoms of the temporal lobe manifestations. Personal air filtration apparatus and method

An apparatus and methods for air filtration are disclosed. The apparatus includes a body and first and second replaceable filters. The body of the apparatus further contains an air-exchange assembly and a filter receiver attached to the air exchange assembly. The air-exchange assembly contains an exhaust tube with an open end and a closed end, two wings on opposite sides of the exhaust tube, and an intake check valve and an exhaust check valve inside the exhaust tube. The first replaceable filter surrounds the filter receiver; and the second replaceable filter is inside the filter receiver. Several apertures and the check valves are strategically disposed in the exhaust tube to achieve optimal air filtration and avoid contamination of a user's exhaust.

Helmet moisture control system

The helmet moisture control system prevents or greatly reduces moisture accumulation in the volume between the face of a helmet wearer and the transparent face shield when wearing a closed face helmet. The system includes a mouth guard having a breathing passage therethrough connected to a central body having separate inhalation and exhalation tubes extending therefrom. A flapper valve in the central body closes the exhalation tube when the wearer inhales, and closes the inhalation tube when the wearer exhales. Exhaled air and accompanying moisture are prevented from entering the volume between the helmet wearer's face and the helmet face shield so long as the wearer breathes orally, thereby greatly assisting in preventing fogging of the interior of the face shield. A moisture condensation trap and drain are provided at the lower portion of the central body. A filter may be provided at the inlet end of the inhalation tube.

Mouthguard Configured for Attachment to a Chin Strap

A mouth guard configured for attachment to a portion of a chin strap assembly. Rather than attaching to the facemask, the invention is configured to attach to a portion of the chin strap and preferably to attach to the molded chin cup that is now part of most chin strap assemblies. The mouth guard includes a stem extending forward from the portion intended to be clenched between the teeth. This stem is used to attach the mouth guard to a portion of the chin strap assembly. Occlusal impact chambers are located within the occlusal posterior pads for shock dissipation and absorption. Anteriorly directed ridges are located along the bottom of the impact surfaces of the occlusal posterior pads for custom fitting of the mouthguard and tending to move the lower jaw anteriorly when a force impact is imposed upon the lower jaw. Mouthguard packaging

A mouthguard that has an integral tethering strap is packaged by forming a loop at the distal end of the strap and then folding the strap back over the front of the U-shaped mouthguard body so as to nest the loop within the U-shaped body. The mouthguard is then ensealed in a transparent plastic clamshell enclosure. The enclosure is assembled to a paperboard carrier which contains cut-outs that area symmetrical about a line of folding for a flap portion of the carrier. When the flap is folded back onto the carrier, the margin of the clamshell is trapped. A second flap opposite the first one is also folded back onto the same side of the carrier as the first flap. The buccal surface of the channel is shaped to a pair of retention bars, which serve to retain the mouthpiece against the upper set of teeth. The inner peripheral wall and the outer peripheral wall of the mouthpiece curve and taper in the vestibule and palatal areas to conform to the shape of the upper jaw. The connecting wall is thicker in the posterior regions than in the anterior regions so that an upwardly directed blow is delivered more to the posterior teeth than to the anterior teeth.

The combination chin protector and mouth guard provides a device for protecting both the user's teeth and chin. Mouthguard

A mouthguard has a flexible frame, and has bite tabs extending from the re ar surface of the frame for engaging the wearer's teeth. The bite tabs include anterior bite tabs for engaging the wearer's front teeth. A narrow split may be provided between the anterior bite tabs that allows the bite tabs to maintain their flexibility. The flexible frame lays against the outer surface of the teeth and extends into the buccal folds superiorly and interiorly of the cheek where the muscles hold i t in place. Grooves may be positioned lengthwise along the frame above and below the bit e tabs for purposes of flexibility and to allow the muscles of the cheek to press t he upper and lower extensions of the frame close to the bone for better retention and comfort. The teeth engage the bite tabs, thus preventing the teeth from clashing together and protecting the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). One or more air holes may be provided in the front portion of the mouthguard permit easy breathing. The mouthguard is retained by the muscles of the lips and cheeks, causes no gag reflex, and is simple, comfortable and protective.
