A glove for gripping an object having an inner glove with a lower palm section of relatively non-stretchable material and an upper palm section of relatively stretchable material that overlie the palm side of the hand of person wearing the glove, a back section that overlies the back of the hand, and stalls for receiving the fingers and thumb. An outer panel overlies substantially the entire palm section and is attached to the inner glove along the upper margin of the outer panel and partially or wholly detached from the inner glove along at least one side of the outer panel. The lower margin of the outer panel is also attached to the inner glove in some embodiments, and in others it is secured to the wrist separately from the inner glove. In some disclosed embodiments, the outer panel is fabricated of elastic material that draws the hand toward a closed position for gripping the object. In others, it is fabricated of a relatively non-stretchable material that is attached at one end to the base portion of the palm section and extends beyond the finger stalls, with a distal end portion of the panel being rolled back and attached to the front sides of the stalls so that it can flatten out and extend farther up the fingers when the hand is curled about the object.

As shown in FIG. 1 the exercise machine of the preferred embodiments includes a mechanical force input interface 1 designed to interface with a user 5 and allow the user 5 to input force 4 into the exercise machine; a force resistor 2 that functions to resist force input into the mechanical force input interface 1 by a user 5 ; and a trigger mechanism 3 that functions to cause a sudden change in the resistance provided against the force input 4 by the user 5 . The exercise machine of the preferred embodiments is designed to exercise muscles in a way that improves muscle speed, explosiveness, or both. Sudden is defined by the Oxford dictionary as “occurring or done quickly and unexpectedly or without warning”—given human reaction times of roughly 500 milliseconds the force reduction is expected to take place in under roughly 500 milliseconds. This is only described as a minimum effective time for sudden operation, not to provide an optimal range of operation. The reduction in force should take place quickly enough that the user will not easily react and reduce their force output, which would be roughly under 500 milliseconds. This exercise machine is does not operate in the same mode or with similarities to a spotting device or machine.

An apparatus for physical exercise , comprising:a central post;at least three roots protruding generally horizontally in differing directions from the base of the post; andat least three branches protruding generally horizontally from the post at differing heights and in differing directions, wherein the at least three branches are composed of fibrous material with the fibers oriented generally along the lengths of the branches.2. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising at least one handle fastened to the central post at a height among the at least three branches.3. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising at least one additional branch that protrudes generally horizontally from the post in a same direction but at a different height as one of the at least three branches.4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein each of the at least three branches protrudes in a same direction as a respective one of the at least three roots.5. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein each of the at least three branches is formed as a contiguous part of a limb that also includes a respective one of the at least three roots.6.
