The helmet uses a new fastener to fasten a cage to the helmet shell allowing sides of the cage to be mounted directly against the shell, reducing the width of the shell on each side. A ball is attached to a portion of a bar of the cage to act as a limit stop precluding movements of the cage with respect to the helmet. A chin bar is fastened to the helmet at two points on each side of the shell. The shell is molded with recessed portions designed to receive the two branches of the chin bar on each side where they will be fastened to the shell so that the outer surfaces of the chin guard are flush with the shell at the locations of attachment to provide a smooth transition and reduce weight. An adjustment device to adjust the fit of the helmet to the user includes a star wheel on each side of the helmet attached to an arcuate flexible strip extending rearwardly around the occipital area of the skull. A sliding mechanism attached to the strip allows the strip to be moved forward and backward to allow it to be tightened or loosened, respectively, with respect to the player's head. A ratcheting lateral adjustment device is also disclosed.

The helmet uses a new fastener to fasten a cage to the helmet shell allowing sides of the cage to be mounted directly against the shell, reducing the width of the shell on each side. A ball is attached to a portion of a bar of the cage to act as a limit stop precluding movements of the cage with respect to the helmet. A chin bar is fastened to the helmet at two points on each side of the shell. The two-part system includes a modified hockey puck and a set of goal units that can be mounted on a hockey goal. The disclosure relates to an irreversible dosimetric shock-detection substrate as well as related articles and methods. The shock-detection substrate incorporates a plurality of microcapsules serving as an irreversible means for detecting impact on the substrate. A shock above a characteristic threshold level experienced by the substrate induces an irreversible detectable change associated with the microcapsules upon shock-induced rupture. The irreversible detectable change provides a tamper-proof and non-electronic means for detecting a shock or impact. The shock-detection substrates can be incorporated into a variety of articles and used in a variety of settings, for example to monitor personal safety, to monitor article integrity, to monitor the end of the useful life of the shock-detection substrate itself, or in any other setting where it is desirable to irreversibly detect and/or localize a shock event.

A hockey training apparatus , the apparatus comprising:an upper blocking portion pivotably connected to a lower blocking portion forming a blocking surface, the blocking surface configured to deflect pucks, wherein the upper blocking portion is configured to be coupled to a goal and to cover at least a portion of the upper portion of a goal, and wherein the lower blocking portion is configured to cover at least a portion of the lower portion of a goal; anda coupling mechanism configured to provide the pivotable connection between the upper and lower blocking portions, and the coupling mechanism is configured to allow the lower blocking portion to pivot relative to the upper blocking portion to allow the user to access the base of the goal to retrieve the pucks from within the goal while the first blocking portion remains coupled to a goal,wherein when the blocking surface is coupled to a goal, the coupling mechanism is arranged to extend along a direction from a left side of a goal to a right side of a goal.2.
