Ski-boot comprising a rigid shell shaped to accommodate the foot, and a rigid cuff which is shaped to surround the ankle and is hinged on the shell so to be rotatable about a transversal reference axis; the shell being inferiorly provided with a front sole and with a substantially duckbill-shaped front appendix which protrudes from the tip of the shell to form an extension of the front sole, and is structured so as to engaged in the front jaw of a specific ski fastening device; the front appendix having, on each lateral side, a respective side groove which starts on the appendix upper face at a distance from the appendix tip ranging between 10 and 20 millimetres, and continues by flanking the shell tip while increasing its depth, so to form a descending slope above which a corresponding prong of the front jaw of the ski fastening device is arranged.

Gripping surface apparatuses

Alternately, the physical stop may comprise a holder at least partially surrounding the wheel and at least one protrusion from the holder adjacent a rolling surface of the wheel, where the protrusion is capable of functioning as a chock and substantially preventing the wheel from rolling against a surface.

Skateboard with grinding roller

A skateboard has one or more rollers on a bottom region of the body of the board, disposed between the front and rear trucks thereof. The roller(s) may be disposed longitudinally along the length of the board, generally parallel to a normal direction of travel of the board. However, in some embodiments, the angle of the rollers may be adjustable or fixed in a direction offset from parallel by from about 1 to about 45 degrees, typically between 1 and 15 degrees. The rollers may extend from the bottom of the board, or may be partially embedded in an indentation formed in the bottom of the board. The roller(s) may be solid, cylindrical, tapered or composed of a plurality of smaller rollers in a row, for example.

The inventive binding comprises a front holding element (12) which is assigned to the leading sole end, a rear holding element (15) which catches the front of the sole or the heel of the ski boot, and a tensioning device (19) which connects the front holding element to the rear holding element and by means of which the ski boot can be clamped between the front and rear holding element such that the heel thereof can be lifted in a free manner. The front holding element (12) is mounted so as to be pivotable relative to the binding (10, 11) or the ski as well as relative to the rear holding element (15) around an axis (13) which runs perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the binding or sole and approximately parallel to the tread of the sole.

A step-in binding for telemark ski having safety release mechanism. The binding comprises a mounting plate, a housing, a clamp lever and a step-in lever. Step-in securing is initiated by applying pressure to an step-in lever, which in turn causes a clamp lever to rotate downwardly towards to hold a ski boot in place. A latching means comprising a tooth and a catching post locks the clamp lever in an engaged position to securely hold the ski boot. A safety release mechanism is activated by rotating the housing assembly about an pivot post such that the tooth falls off the catching post, thus allowing the key to be lowered and opening the toe clamp to release the ski boot. The binding is automatically reset to a position for receiving the ski boot after the safety release mechanism is activated.

Release binding for telemark and cross-country skis

A release binding ( 20 ) is shown for releasably attaching a ski boot to a telemark or cross-country ski ( 22 ). A load spool ( 50 ) having a circumferential groove ( 56 ) is attached perpendicular to the bottom of a standard toe plate ( 24 ) used to secure the toe of the boot. A release plate ( 40 ) having a planar load spring ( 44 ) inside is attached to the ski. The load spring has two sides ( 62, 64 ) attached together at both ends forming an elongated aperture. To assemble the boot on the ski, the skier orients the load spool through a hole ( 48 ) in the top of the release plate into the elongated aperture of the spring and pushes down. A pilot surface ( 60 ) on the load spool pushes the two sides of the spring apart until the groove is reached whereupon the two spring sides snap into the groove retaining the toe plate on the ski. In a preferred embodiment, release binding ( 320 ) includes, an adjuster ( 323 ) for selectively adjusting release torque, cooperating contours ( 371 ) and ( 373 ) disposed on adapter plate ( 321 ) and central pad ( 375 ) respectfully for properly aligning adapter plate ( 321 ) with release plate ( 340 ), and snow discharge ports ( 381 ) located on release plate ( 340 ) for moving snow away from load spool ( 350 ) and load spring ( 344 ).

A release binding is shown for releasably attaching a ski boot to a telemark or cross-country ski having a load spool with a circumferential groove and a substantially elliptical holding portion attached perpendicular to the bottom of a toe plate. A release plate having a load spring with two sides is attached to the ski. To assemble the boot on the ski, a lever is moved to an unlocked position placing the minor axis of the ellipse of the load spool perpendicular to the two sides of the spring. After the boot is assembled to the ski, the lever is moved to a locked position which moves the major axis of the ellipse of the spool until it is perpendicular to the sides of the spring.

Telemark binding with releasable riser plate assembly

A releasable riser plate assembly is provided for use with a telemark binding. The assembly is mounted to a ski. The assembly includes a base plate interconnecting a front and rear housing, and a release plate mounted over the base plate. Force transmitting members are integrated in the housings to hold the release plate. A toe adapter of the telemark binding is mounted on the release plate. The toe of a ski boot is secured in the toe adapter. Adequate force generated by the boot in either a lateral direction or vertical direction results in disengagement of the release plate from the base plate and housings. Accordingly, the boot separates from the ski. The assembly incorporates a ski brake. The ski brake activates upon separation of the release plate. The release plate is reattached by a step-in motion wherein a front portion of the release plate is positioned under a lip of the front housing, and then the heel of the boot is pressed down against the ski to seat a rear portion of the release plate against the base plate and rear housing.

The ski binding comprises a body for placing a locking group incorporating a locking arm, a gate and a flexor. The locking arm, the gate and the flexor are mounted in an alignment section comprising a base plate, a fork and a marginal partition respectively from the front and back sides of the base plate. The alignment section including all its components as described above is configured to be integrated into the body through an opening from the front side of the body, while the locking arm is radially attached to the fork of the alignment section by two axles of the locking arm. The flexor is mounted inside the alignment section by two axles of the locking arm and the gate. The subassembly of alpine ski touring ski boot binding components during downhill skiing are non flexibly secured from toe to heel, after the flexure interfitting of the rear of the hinged flexible touring plate to a non flexible downhill plate, to which the front of the hinged flexible touring plate is always pivotally secured. During alpine ski touring and downhill skiing the six way safety release functions of the downhill plate safety binding are potentially immediately available. During alpine ski touring a spring force applied at the pivotal securement of the hinged flexible touring plate is stronger at smaller angle positions of the ski boot relative to the ski and becomes weaker at larger angles, thereby making level or near level walking strides easier, yet making hillside side steps more convenient and safe, as the ski at these smaller angles tends to remain closely underneath the ski boot.
