This is achieved by supporting a frame 2 carrying the carrier 1 on flexible inclined members 3, 4, 5, 6 which resolve the out-ofbalance force from a rotating unbalanced mass 10 into two components at right angles. The material is simultaneously conveyed along the trough or tube and given a rolling motion. In another arrangement the trough or tube is resiliently mounted and the two component forces derived from two rotating unbalanced masses which are axially spaced and 90 degrees out of phase.

There is described a system for growing a microorganism in liquid culture, the system comprising: a driving apparatus configured to house and oscillate a microfluidic cartridge; and a microfluidic cartridge comprising at least one incubation chamber, such that when the system is in use, the incubation chamber may be oscillated back and forth along an oscillation path using a preferred oscillation protocol. There is also described a method of growing a microorganism in liquid culture, the method comprising disposing a microorganism and suitable growth medium into an incubation chamber; and mixing the microorganism and growth medium by oscillating the incubation chamber back and forth along an oscillation path using a preferred oscillation protocol. There is also described a microfluidic cartridge that may be used to grow microorganisms using the system and methods described above. 1. A system for growing a microorganism in liquid culture , comprising:(a) a rotating platform on a driving apparatus; and(b) at least one cartridge comprising a plurality of incubation chambers which rests upon said rotating platform, wherein said rotating platform provides turbulent mixing within the plurality of incubation chambers.2. A toilet apparatus includes a waste material receiving bowl having a top member with an opening defining an annular seating surface, and an agitation device to agitate an absorbent media and the waste material disposed in the disposable bag while the agitation device does not come into contact with the absorbent media and the waste material. The toilet apparatus also includes a disposable bag having an upper edge to be releasably secured to the annular seating surface such that waste material introduced through the opening is received by and retained in the bag.

A laboratory mixer for mixing a sample and a diluent in a bag. An enclosure defines a mixing chamber, and at least one movable mixing element is retained for mixing the sample and the diluent within the bag. At least one liquid detector is retained relative to the enclosure for detecting liquid leaked from the bag. The sensor can be a capacitive, inductive, or optical sensor. The sensor can be a conductivity sensor with two electrodes shaped like combs and a gap less than or equal to a diameter of a drip of diluent solution. A ledge with a low point can be retained by an access door. The sensor or sensors can be disposed adjacent to the access door, on a mixing element, in direct contact with the bag, or on a tank. An alarm and cessation of operation can be triggered upon a detection of leaked liquid.

There is disclosed a system for cleaning and disinfecting allograft material. In an embodiment, the system includes a sterile bag and a motorized paddle blender. The sterile bag having an outer wall configured to withstand blending forces, at least one paddle contact section, and an allograft retaining section separate from the at least one paddle contact section. The motorized paddle blender having at least one paddle configured to apply blending forces on the sterile bag on the at least one paddle contact area, a motorized portion to actuate the at least one paddle, and a door component configured to hold the sterile bag adjacent the at least one paddle. The at least one paddle and the allograft retaining section are configured to prevent the paddle from contacting the allograft material when the blending forces are applied on the sterile bag on the at least one paddle contact area.
