A shredder comprises a shredder housing and a shredder mechanism received in the housing. The shredder mechanism includes a motor and cutter elements and enables at least one article to be shredded to be fed into the cutter elements. The motor is operable to drive the cutter elements in a shredding direction. The shredder also includes a plurality of supporting structures between the shredder mechanism and the shredder housing. The shredder housing has a plurality of support surfaces. Each of the plurality of supporting structures is engaged but not fixedly connected on a corresponding support surface, thus allowing movement of the shredder mechanism in X, Y, and Z directions. At least one motion limiter is provided to limit the relative movement between the mechanism and the housing. The shredder mechanism may be urged to a centered position. The supporting structures may reduce vibrations and noise during operation of the shredder.

In use, homogeneity is maintained in a slurry contained within the tank by submerging the impeller such that the cutter cooperates with the impeller to cut solids within the slurry, drawing tank contents into the impeller at the inlet, cutting material between the cutter and blade, and then discharging the material.

An input tray is disposed on the casing for placing plural papers thereon. A pressing member and a thickness detecting device are installed on the upper cover. When the pressing member is contacted with the plural papers on the input tray and pushed by the plural papers, the pressing member is moved. The thickness detecting device is located near the pressing member. Moreover, in response to the movement of the pressing member, the thickness detecting device may be triggered. If an overall thickness of the plural papers exceeds an allowable thickness, the pressing member is pushed by the plural papers. The tray can include an edge to assist in directing separated paper towards the cutter elements. Preferably, an SSD is destroyed by disintegration within a given time period (approximately 30 minutes or less) using a blending device operating at a given peak power, e.g., greater than 450 W. A pulverizing agent may be admixed with pieces of an SSD printed circuit board prior to initiating the disintegration process to increase the number of particle collisions in a processing/blending chamber. The pulverizing agent may also contain moisture that mitigates suspension of processed SDD particles in the surrounding air (when the mixing chamber is opened). The overall process may be video-recorded for compliance purposes.

A size reduction device and method for solid particles, which are conveyed as a suspension in a liquid flow. The device includes a housing, at least two counter-rotatable size reduction components disposed in the housing, each including a plurality of cutting elements, disposed on a common rotatable shaft with a longitudinal axis. The flow direction of the suspension is at right angles to the longitudinal axes of the shafts of the size reduction components. Two mutually opposite guide rails with a longitudinal axis parallel to the shafts are assigned to components. Each guide rail includes a base plate, on which ribs with channels are constituted parallel to the flow direction on the side of the base plate towards the component. 1. The invention involves an automatic shut-off waste disposer that may be activated with a control module, which utilizes a programmable automatic shut-off routine. This enables a user to turn on the garbage disposer and walk away without having to turn the disposer off. In exemplary embodiments, activation of the disposer includes actuation of a solenoid valve for injecting a stream of water flow into the dispenser chamber in order to facilitate a proper water flow while the disposer is actively disposing of food waste. In some exemplary embodiments, activation of the disposer may be achieved via a user-activated pneumatic actuator, which may be installed in proximity to the sink to which the disposer is coupled. In some exemplary embodiments, the disposer implements a sensor for automatically shutting of a motor of the disposer upon a predetermined event. 1.
