The liquid to be atomized is brought externally to or adjacent to the endface of the nozzle tip. The above liquid transport method is equally applicable to the ultrasonic nozzle-array devices that are comprised of a plurality of ultrasonic single-nozzle devices configured in parallel. The longitudinal length, transverse width, shape, and area of the nozzle endface of single-nozzle and nozzle-array devices may be tailored or designed (e.g. enlarged) to obtain optimum or large quantities of product droplets to achieve high throughput. By increasing the drive frequency to 8 MHz or higher, sub-micrometer-sized monodisperse or narrowly-sized droplets can be produced using the ultrasonic single-nozzle and nozzle-array devices or any solid endface. 1. Apparatus for pixelating falling water droplets to create a graphical image comprising an elevated water display head formed from a series of two or more modular units. Each of the series of two or more modular units has a water reservoir, a plurality of high speed solenoids located below the water reservoir, a replaceable nozzle plate having a plurality of spaced apart nozzles wherein one of said plurality of high speed solenoids is connected to each nozzle. A programmable micro-controller is provided with each of the modular units for controlling the water supply to the water reservoir and for controlling the formation of the falling water droplets through each solenoid and nozzle. The water droplets falling from said plurality of nozzles from each of the modular units forms part of the graphical image. 1. Energy output from a laser-produced plasma (LPP) extreme ultraviolet light (EUV) system varies based on how well the laser beam is focused on droplets of target material to generate plasma at a primary focal spot. Maintaining droplets at the primary focal spot during burst firing is difficult because generated plasma from preceding droplets push succeeding droplets out of the primary focal spot Current droplet-to-droplet feedback control to re-align droplets to the primary focal spot is relatively slow. The system and method described herein adaptively pre-compensate for droplet push-out by directing droplets to a target position that is offset from the primary focal spot such that when a droplet is lased, the droplet is pushed by the laser beam into the primary focal spot to generate plasma.
