Номер: US20190070621A1
Принадлежит: Control Devices LLC

A pressure washer for dispensing either water or a water-chemical mixture includes an injector for injecting chemical into water flowing through a hose at a relatively high flow rate. A sprayer connected to the hose has a passage having one upstream, one middle, and first and second downstream portions. The first downstream portion is connected to a high pressure conduit and the second downstream portion is connected to a high flow conduit less resistance to fluid flow than the high pressure conduit. A valve between the upstream portion and the middle portion selectively allows fluid flow to the middle portion of the passage. Another valve between the middle portion and downstream portion selectively allows flow to the second downstream portion and high flow conduit. Otherwise the valve directs flow through only the first downstream portion and high pressure conduit, which limits flow rate so as not to activate the injector. 1. A sprayer for dispensing liquid , said sprayer comprising:a housing having a passage therethrough, said passage having one upstream portion, one middle portion, and a plurality of downstream portions including a first downstream portion and a second downstream portion;a first conduit connected to the first downstream portion;a second conduit connected to the second downstream portion, said second conduit having lower resistance to fluid flow than said first conduit;a first valve mounted along the housing passage between the upstream portion and the middle portion, said first valve being selectively moveable between a closed position, in which the first valve blocks fluid flow through the housing passage, and an open position, in which the first valve allows fluid flow through the housing passage from the upstream portion to the middle portion; anda second valve mounted along the housing passage downstream from the first valve and between the middle portion and the downstream portions, said second valve being selectively moveable between a low ...

Method For Nozzle Flow Detection

Номер: US20180178237A1
Принадлежит:

With the use of a low cost microphone mounted at each nozzle, a sound signature of the nozzles may be captured and stored to be used as a continuous indicator of any changes in the flow rate of the nozzles. By measuring changes in sound at each nozzle, it is possible to determine the change in flow before a change in pressure manifests into a problem in the system. The change in sound will oftentimes be significant for plugged nozzles, or nozzles that have excessive wear and flow at too high of a rate. The invention has the advantage of being relatively low cost with ceramic microphones, for example, and with little or no moving parts required. A closed loop control system may be included to compensate for nozzle degradation. 1. A method for nozzle flow detection comprising:discharging a fluid at an outlet of a spray nozzle assembly;using a microphone positioned proximal to the outlet to communicate acoustic data corresponding to the discharge of the fluid at the outlet;holding a calibration measurement in a data structure, the calibration measurement corresponding to a discharge of fluid at the outlet, the calibration measurement being derived from acoustic data provided by the microphone; andreceiving a flow measurement corresponding to a discharge of fluid at the outlet, the flow measurement being derived from acoustic data provided by the microphone; andcomparing the flow measurement to the calibration measurement to determine an error.2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising generating an alert when the error is greater than a predetermined tolerance. This is a divisional of U.S. patent application Ser. No. 15/267,409, filed Sep. 16, 2016, which claims benefit from U.S. provisional patent application Ser. No. 62/219,908, entitled “Nozzle Flow Detection System,” filed Sep. 17, 2015, which is incorporated herein by reference. The present invention relates generally to agricultural implements, and in particular, to spray systems providing nozzle flow detection ...

Metering and dispensing system

Номер: US5020689A
Принадлежит: Wellcome Foundation Ltd

A method and apparatus for dispersing an active ingredient, such as a POUND umigant, fertilizer or room freshener. The active ingredient is placed in a container (13) and a pressurised solvent/propellent is subsequently introduced from a source (11). The solvent/propellent expands to adopt a liquid phase and a gaseous phase. The liquid phase serves to absorb the active ingredient and the gaseous phase serves to propel the borne active ingredient out of the apparatus through a dispensing outlet (14) where further expansion takes place and the active ingredient is dispersed in a fog or mist. Check valves (15, 16) create a pressure differential between the sample cylinder outlet (23) and a by-pass portion (22) to enable total absorption of the active ingredient. The system is particulary suitable for the spraying of insecticides where a metered amount of active ingredient is to be dispersed or for exhausting a total supply of active ingredient.

Fluid mixing nozzle and method

Номер: US5664733A
Автор: W. Gerald Lott
Принадлежит: Individual

An improved fluid mixing nozzle and method, in which a first fluid flows therefrom to mix with a second fluid external the nozzle, for inducing vortex creation and chaotic turbulent flow. The nozzle has a body with a cavity extending therethrough from the inlet end to the outlet end. The cross sectional area of the inlet orifice of the nozzle is greater than its outlet orifice cross sectional area. The outlet orifice cross section area shape has a substantially circular central portion and at least one (but typically more than one) protrusion extending from the perimeter of the central portion. Generally, the protrusions are smaller in cross sectional area than the central portion, are equally spaced about the central portion perimeter, and have a length to width ratio from 1 to 2. Functionally applying the above described nozzle is a method of improved mixing, of creating chaotic turbulent flow, and of inducing vortex creation.
