Die Erfindung betrifft eine Breitschlitzdüse zum Applizieren eines mit Partikeln versehenen Fluides, mit einem Düsenkörper (2). Der Düsenkörper (2) umfasst eine Düseninnenkammer (6) zur Aufnahme des mit Partikeln versehenen Fluids. Das mit den Partikeln versehene Fluid ist über einen durch zwei Wände umgrenzten Düsenspalt (7) auf ein sich relativ zu der Breitschlitzdüse in einer Transportrichtung (TR) in Bewegung befindliches Substrat (20) abgebbar. Eine Vibrationseinrichtung (16) ist mit dem Düsenkörper (2) mechanisch gekoppelt, um den Düsenspalt (7) und das in der Düseninnenkammer (6) befindliche und mit den Partikeln versehene Fluid in Schwingung zu versetzen. Die Vibrationseinrichtung (16) ist dazu ausgebildet, den Düsenkörper (2) mit einer oberen Grenzfrequenz von höchstens 1kHz anzuregen.

Copper or copper alloy articles are coated with silicones by first treating the articles with reducing substances and then coating with the silicone in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. Copper wire is treated by first reducing in an atmosphere of hydrogen the copper oxides which cover the wire and then applying silicone varnish while still in a hydrogen atmosphere and without the wire having been exposed to any oxidising action. The reducing action may be carried out in the hydrogen atmosphere at a temperature above 250 DEG C. the coating applied and then the article heated to polymerize the composition while in the hydrogen atmosphere.

Highly efficient, multi-functional anti-icing compositions and methods of their use are provided. Anti-icing compositions include hydrogels configured to form thin film coatings on various surfaces via spin coating under UV irradiation. Multifunctional anti-icing platforms are based on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-grafted polyelectrolyte hydrogels. Methods for grafting hydrophobic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) chains onto a hydrophilic polyelectrolyte network containing various counterions, forming a multifunctional hybrid anti-icing hydrogel are also provided. 1. An anti-icing material comprising:a hydrophilic polyelectrolyte material containing at least one counterion, anda hydrophobic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS);wherein the PDMS is cross-linked onto the polyelectrolyte material;wherein the anti-icing material inhibits ice nucleation, inhibits ice propagation, and reduces ice adhesion.2. The anti-icing material of claim 1 , wherein the anti-icing material inhibits ice nucleation at a temperature of lower than −30° C.3. The anti-icing material of claim 1 , wherein the anti-icing material inhibits ice propagation at a time of greater than 500 s/cm.4. The anti-icing material of claim 1 , wherein the anti-icing material reduces ice adhesion strength to less than 20 kPa.5. The anti-icing material of claim 1 , wherein the anti-icing material is a hydrogel.6. The anti-icing material of claim 1 , wherein the hydrophilic polyelectrolyte material is poly(acrylamide-co-acrylic acid-co-N-allylacrylamide).7. A process for coating a surface of a nonferrous metallic article with a bi-layer polymeric coating, said method comprising: 1) Subjecting the surface of a nonferrous metal article to a chemical washing; 2) Heating the article whose surface will be coated, to a temperature higher than the melting temperature of the selected polymer and lower than the ignition temperature thereof; 3) Apply the first coating layer, with a polymer size of particle of less than or equal to 20 mesh, keeping constant the substrate temperature; 4) Applying a second coating layer of plastic on the first coating layer, after the first layer has adhered to the substrate surface, where the second layer can be the same or different polymer, with a particle size equal to or less than 20 mesh; 5) Heating further the ensemble of substrate and bi-layer coating to a temperature higher than the selected at step 2, but lower than the ignition temperature of the coating and, 6) Cooling the thus coated substrate to room temperature. The product obtained offers a smooth, nonporous surface, high adhesion of the coating to the substrate and it is ensured the covering of all the surface exposed to the chemical treatment of the first stage, so that the resulting coated substrate is suitable for use in the food industry.

A process for imparting a simulated patina appearance to a copper substrate, and a substrate having that appearance. A colorant having the desired initial patina color tone is employed to produce a non-continuous layer of colorant on the surface of a copper substrate. The appearance of patination of the desired tone is created by interspersed spots of colorant with the remaining portion of the substrate being exposed for natural patination. The interspersed spots of colorant may be produced by screen printing, by spattering, as by spraying, or by mechanical removal of colorant after application to the substrate surface, or a combination. The colorant is preferably a paint and may be applied by non-uniform spraying on the substrate surface. Non-uniformity may be accomplished by varying the volume of colorant sprayed during the application process or by varying the relative movement of the spray and substrate. After application, the colorant provides a simulated patina to the copper substrate surface while allowing the remaining (non-covered) portion of the substrate to patinate naturally.

The protective coating minimizes formation of oxides and other bond weakening forces that may form during bonding processes, such as bonding a copper wire to a copper bond pad of the substrate. In an aspect, an annealing process is used to cure the protective coating and remove small imperfections and other abnormalities in the protective coating prior to the bonding process.
