A hand-held miter saw having an electrically powered circular saw blade for cutting a rod and including a table and a guideway, a bearing having an axis extending parallel with the table and being a tube with an axle pivotally mounted therein, a first lever connected to the tube and a second lever connected to the axle, a cutting head supporting a spindle of the saw blade, an arm which is formed on the cutting head and a bar for supporting the table so that the table can turn about a pivot axis and the guideway forms an angle with the axis of rotation of the saw blade. The miter saw has a light and inexpensive structure and is easily transportable wherein it can be easily and rapidly operated when supported only by one or two of the hands of an operator. 123.
