The weld line is defined by these coordinate systems that use a workpiece as a reference, and an operator specifies the amount of travel of a torch in these workpiece coordinate systems. By this method, offline teaching can be accurately performed in a welding system without requiring skill in operation.

Apparatus for controlling a welding station used for welding seams extending along cylindrical can bodies, the welding station comprising a pair of welding rolls and a calibration unit for causing a desired cylinder overlap during welding. The calibration unit is adjustable along at least three different adjustment axes. The apparatus comprises: a weld monitor configured to monitor welded seams and provide an electrical signal indicative of weld thickness at a series of predetermined points along the seam length; a controller configured to receive said signal and to generate one or more control signals; and adjustment mechanisms for coupling to the calibration unit, or forming part of the calibration unit. The adjustment mechanisms are configured to receive the signal(s) and to be responsive thereto to adjust the calibration unit relative to one or more of said three adjustment axes, to provide the desired cylinder overlap and/or a desired weld quality. 1. A method for performing a welding operation on a workpiece using a programmable logic controller that is communicatively coupled to a non-transitive memory device and a welding machine , the method comprising:obtaining, by the programmable logic controller, a dimension (D) of the workpiece to be welded from a technical drawing stored in the memory device;obtaining, by the programmable logic controller, one or more default values for a plurality of welding parameters for the welding operation from the memory device, wherein the plurality of welding parameters comprise an oscillation width (w) and an oscillation speed (Vo);obtaining, by the programmable logic controller, a pitch (P) for the welding operation;{'sub': 's', 'calculating, by the programmable logic controller, a rotational speed (V) for the workpiece during a first portion of the welding operation;'}performing, with the welding machine, the first portion of the welding operation using the rotational speed based on a first instruction received from the programmable logic controller;obtaining, by the programmable logic controller, a new value for at least one of the group consisting of the oscillation width, the oscillation speed, and the dimension, wherein the new value is used during a second portion of the welding operation;calculating, by the programmable logic controller, a second rotational speed for the workpiece during the second portion of the welding operation using the new value, wherein the pitch is maintained as constant; andperforming, with the welding machine, the second portion of the welding operation using the second rotational speed based on a second instruction received from the programmable logic controller.3. Provided is a soldering system that can raise the work efficiency related to the supply of a soldering target and soldering work, while decreasing the oxygen concentration by maintaining high airtightness in a space surrounding the soldering target. A soldering system includes a soldering device and a robot related to the soldering device, in which the soldering device is equipped with a container having an openable lid and accommodating a soldering target, and the robot performs conveying of the soldering target to the soldering device and opening/closing of the lid. A tool storage system has a universal mounting bracket coupled to a support surface formed with a plurality of apertures that align with differently sized support arms that support a tool therefrom. An allograft optimization system utilizes an optical system to determine the outer perimeter of a tissue blank for allograft cutting therefrom.
