Pliers with a restoring function include an elastic element and two pliers bodies. The elastic element has two urging ends. The two pliers bodies have two pinching heads, two handles, and two pivotal parts. Each of the pivotal parts has a recess and a pivotal hole. A pivotal element goes through the two pivotal holes. The elastic element is disposed in the two recesses and penetrated by the pivotal element. Both urging ends of the elastic element are on opposite sides of the two recesses to urge sidewalls of the recesses, thereby opening the pliers. A buffer region is designed in each of the recesses for the corresponding urging end. When the opening angle of the pliers is greater than that is supported by the elastic element, at least one urging end of the elastic element releases its urging against the recess sidewall and moves in the buffer region. The pliers become relaxed then.

In the open-close work implement, a first half member ( 1 ) and a second half member ( 2 ) are intersected and pivotally fitted together, an open-close working part ( 4 ) is provided to the distal end, and an open-close operation part ( 5 ) is provided to the proximal end. The open-close work implement is configured so that when increasing closing force is applied to the open-close operation part ( 5 ), the open-close operation part 5 flexes and a contact part ( 7 ) and a receiving part ( 6 ) come in contact. The open-close work implement is also configured so that when the closing force is further increased while the receiving part ( 6 ) and the contact part ( 7 ) are in a state of contact, the open-close operation part ( 5 ) flexes further but closing force is not transmitted to the open-close working part ( 4 ), and the holding force of the open-close working part ( 4 ) does not increase above the holding force corresponding to the closing force at the time of contact between the receiving part ( 6 ) and the contact part ( 7 ).

A cutting implement including a metal substrate and a coating is provided. The coating has zirconium PVD (ZrCRTiNO), which provides protection against corrosion of the metal substrate. In some instances, the zirconium PVD provides protection from corrosion for at least 200 hours. A layer of titanium nitride (TiN) can be added to the coating to increase the hardness of the metal substrate. In such an embodiment, the layer of titanium nitride (TiN) is applied before the zirconium PVD (ZrCRTiNO). Titanium nitride (TiN) coated steel is 3 to 5 times harder than uncoated steel. Thus, a combination of titanium nitride (TiN) and zirconium PVD (ZrCRTiNO) as a coating on a metal substrate can increase the life of the metal substrate by providing increased hardness and anti-corrosive properties.

One embodiment provides a single tool that is operable for crimping bead sleeves of one or more sizes. Another embodiment combines both crimping and shearing functions in a single tool. 1. A method of securing a crimping sleeve to a wire , comprising:providing a crimper having first and second jaws arranged to move toward and away from one another, wherein the first jaw has a first long dimension defining a first longitudinal direction and a first width defining a lateral direction and a recessed dip positioned across the first width, and the second jaw has a second long dimension defining a second longitudinal direction and a second width along the lateral direction and a protruding boss positioned across the second width, such that a crimping site is formed by the protruding boss being mateably positioned within the recessed dip as the jaws are closed, and further wherein the protruding boss has a serrated surface comprising a parallel series of alternating teeth and grooves, wherein the parallel series is perpendicular to the second long dimension and extends in the lateral direction;threading a crimping sleeve onto a wire;positioning the crimper such that the crimping sleeve is held at the crimping site between the protruding boss and the recessed dip; andforming a crimp in the crimping sleeve by closing the jaws to cause the serrated surface of the protruding boss to deform the crimping sleeve against the recessed dip and secure the wire therein.2.
