Bei einem Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Bauelements aus Polystyrol, insbesondere EPS oder XPS, mit einer im Inneren des Bauelements angeordneten Schiene (18) zum Anschluss weiterer Elemente ist erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, dass man einen Heizdraht von der Seite einführt, sodass ein Schlitz (16) von der Seite bis zu der geplanten Position für die Schiene (18) entsteht, dass man dann mit dem Heizdraht den Raum für die Schiene ausschneidet und schließlich den Heizdraht durch denselben Schlitz (16) wieder aus dem Bauelement herausführt, wonach man den ausgeschnittenen Körper ausschiebt und die Schiene (18) einführt. Auf diese Weise bleibt die Oberseite des Bauelements unversehrt, nur auf der Seite gibt es durch den Schlitz (16) eine Möglichkeit, dass Feuchtigkeit eindringen kann. Um auch diese zu beseitigen, ist es zweckmäßig, dass man das Bauelement danach beschichtet, wodurch der Schlitz (16) geschlossen wird.

Auf diese Weise bleibt die Oberseite des Dachrandelements unversehrt, nur auf der Seite gibt es durch den Schlitz (16) eine Möglichkeit, dass Feuchtigkeit eindringen kann. Um auch diese zu beseitigen, ist es zweckmäßig, dass man das Dachrandelement danach beschichtet, wodurch der Schlitz (16) geschlossen wird.

THE CUTTING AND SEALING OF MEMBRANES ARE PERFORMED BY PASSING A HEATED BODY THROUGH THE BEAM FOLLOWING A CROSS-SECTIONAL PATH WITH THE DIRECTION OF MEMBRANES, OR THE TEMPERATURE OF THE HEATED BODY IS LOCATED ABOVE THE TEMPERATURE MEMBRANES. A pack of self-opening plastic T-shirt bags for use with a bagging rack. Each plastic bag in the pack of bags has a mouth tab portion between its two upwardly extending handles, which are at the sides of the mouth of the T-shirt bags. Flapless handle apertures are also formed in the handles, with frangible pressure bonds formed along their perimeter edges. Due to the frangible bonding formed between adjacent bags, as a frontmost bag is removed from the pack of bags on the bagging rack, the next bag in the pack of bags will automatically self-open into a open position for loading with merchandise. The frangible bonding is formed with dies having a die portion with a cutting edge and having a compression portion, with a generally blunt leading edge, positioned in close proximity to the die portion.

Advantageously, the hollow fiber membranes which are severed have a significant void volume and may be anisotropic with a thin, dense skin. The heated member can be a hot wire or ribbon.

A sheet cutter cuts a portion of a continuous sheet, discharged through a gap between a pair of moving and stationary knives respectively having arc-shaped and straight knife edges. A motor rotates a pair of rotatable, identical gear wheels engaged with each other and opposed to the moving knife and having a pair of respective link arms thereon. Each link arm has a first end connected to a peripheral position of the respective gear wheel by a pivot thereon and a second end connected to the moving knife by a pin inserted into a respective one of a pair of horizontally extending slits in the moving knife. Rotating motion of the gear wheels is transformed into a reciprocating motion of the moving knife against, and relatively to, the stationary knife, in which the second end of each link arm assumes one of two opposing positions, depending respectively upon a current one of opposite rotating directions of the respective gear wheel, such that one or the other rotating direction of the motor results in the reciprocating motion of the moving knife with a stroke either to cut the sheet completely or incompletely.
