The invention relates to an electrically operated disc cutting machine for cutting discs from strand-shaped cutting goods, having a cutting unit, which comprises a circular blade mounted in a rotatable manner in a drive housing, an electric motor surrounded by the drive housing, and a base plate on which the drive housing is installed in a cantilevered manner via at least one support column extending in the vertical direction. The invention is characterized in that the support column in the horizontal direction remains open, in which at least one accessory unit for the further processing of cut cutting goods is arranged, wherein a connection of the accessory unit is accommodated in the drive housing. In this way, a conventional disc cutting machine can be improved in a cost effective manner and using simple technical means to the effect that the machine has a particularly compact design and can be easily converted to different operating modes, wherein accessory units necessary therefor can be stored in the same housing as the drive.

The present system has an actuating rack having a series of regularly spaced piercing knives mounted thereon. The actuating rack is configured to be raised and lowered automatically. In use, a loaf of bread is placed underneath the actuating rack. When the actuating rack is lowered, the knives puncture the loaf, creating a series of vertical slits along the length of the loaf. The loaf is then cut with a conventional bread slicing machine where the slices alternate between a slice that dissects a vertical slit and a cut that is positioned exactly in between two adjacent vertical slits. A side-loading pendulum slicer for slicing short and/or oddly-shaped food products. The pendulum slicer has an aperture in the upstream side of the product holder through which food products are injected. A loading conveyor holds large numbers of food products that are sequentially and individually loaded onto an injecting conveyor that injects the food products through the aperture and into the product holder. A weight that is raised above the aperture is lowered onto the food product to compress the food product against a thickness tray while the product holder reciprocates through a blade adjacent the thickness tray. Slices are removed from the food product and conveyed away for use. 1. A food product slicer comprising:(a) a product holder defined by a substantially cylindrical sidewall with a barrel formed therethrough to form a first opening at a first end disposed adjacent a blade, wherein the product holder is mounted to a frame by a pivot mounted near an opposite, second end of the sidewall;(b) a product holder drive system drivingly linked to the product holder for driving the product holder cyclically, wherein the product holder's first opening passes adjacent the blade;(c) an aperture formed in the sidewall near the first end of the product holder, the aperture being large enough for a food product that can be sliced into smaller portions to be inserted therethrough;(d) an object disposed within the sidewall of the product holder adjacent the aperture for bearing against a food product, the object having an outer shape that corresponds to the barrel of the product holder; and(e) a prime mover drivingly linked to the object to drive the object at least away from the first opening.2. A slicing apparatus for a continuous slicing of products comprises a slicing unit having a movable cutting blade, a supply apparatus for a multi-track supply of the products to the slicing unit to cut off slices from the products and a removal apparatus for removing portions of cut-off slices along a transport direction. The removal apparatus has a first removal conveyor and a second removal conveyor arranged downstream of the first removal conveyor with respect to the transport direction. The slicing apparatus comprises a slicing apparatus provided between the first removal conveyor and the second removal conveyor for cut-off product parts to be discarded and a track combiner which is configured to take over portions not to be discarded in each case from a number of different conveyor tracks of the first removal conveyor consecutively in time and to combine them in a smaller number of tracks on the second removal conveyor
