The present invention concerns a method and an arrangement for processing calcinated carbon bodies such as anodes or cathodes for use in connection with electrolytic production of aluminium. The carbon bodies are processed using a rotating processing tool (101) that consists of a mainly circular disc with cutting edges (114) mounted at its periphery. The cutting edges may be made of polycrystalline diamond (PCD) or an equivalent material. The rotating processing tool mounted on a rotating, driven spindle and is guided by guiding elements (110) that can be jets or perforated discs that blows pressurized air at the tool, or rollers (120). With the present invention it is possible to create narrow and deep slots in calcinated carbon bodies in an efficient manner with low tool wear.

A stabilizing collar for a concrete saw blade provides a rigid blade structure for smoother cutting operations, particularly in partially cured concrete. A pair of the present collars (10a, 10b) are secured to the blade shaft on each side of the blade, clamping the blade securely therebetween. Each collar has a slightly recessed central area and a raised toroidal rim therearound. Clamping the blade and collar assembly tightly on the shaft, compresses the recessed areas and clamps the rim portions of the collars tightly against the blade at some distance outward from the shaft, thereby providing a rigid assembly and essentially eliminating lateral vibration and flexing of the blade. This enables an otherwise conventional concrete saw to be used for cutting "green" concrete, i. e. relatively soft concrete which has only partially cured.

A table saw includes a base, a work table having a cutting opening, a tank for receiving cooling liquid, a blade partly extending out from the cutting opening, and a guard assembly. The guard assembly includes a guard for covering the blade and for moving upwards under the action of a workpiece. In a working condition, at least a portion of the guard abuts against the workpiece, and the workpiece can slide relative to the guard. The guard has a guiding wall which abuts against the workpiece in the working condition and which guides the cooling liquid into a kerf in the workpiece formed by the blade. Because the table saw collects the cooling liquid brought by the blade and returns it to the tank for receiving the cooling liquid through the cutting opening of the work table, the table saw effectively controls the cooling liquid splashed during the cutting operation of the workpiece and prevents the cooling liquid from splashing to dirty the operator, the work table, and the workpiece, saves the time of cleaning the workpiece after cutting, and enhances the operating comfort of the operator.
