A tile cutter includes a supporting frame (1, 2, 6, 7) having a pivotal handle (14) connected thereto and supporting upper and lower cutting implements (23, 10) for cutting roof tiles. The upper cutting implement (23) is releasably retained within the end of a plunger (17) and the lower cutting implement (10) is releasably retained within a tube (9), so that different implements for cutting roof tiles made of, for example, clay, concrete or slate, can be interchanged. The tile cutter can also be provided with an L-shaped support (28) for supporting the tile cutter for use on a sloping roof, and the frame (1, 2, 6, 7) is preferably provided with stabilizing feet (26) having rubber matting soles (27).
