The present invention applies to a molding method for a fiber-reinforced plastic structure having an internal cavity. Firstly, grain groups, which mainly consist of a plurality of high-rigidity grains, are accommodated in bags, and a plurality of cores are formed. A reinforcing fiber substrate, is placed between the plurality of adjacent cores so as to be interposed therebetween. For example, a plurality of molding base materials are prepared by surrounding each core with a prepreg, and the plurality of molding base materials are combined and placed inside a molding die, and the molding base materials are compression molded. When compression molding, a part of the outer surface of the cores is locally pressurized, and the internal pressure of the cores is increased, changing the shape thereof, thus eliminating voids that are present between the cores and the prepreg and/or the prepreg and the molding surface of the die.

A preform is made by casting a copolyester polymer elastomer into a block. While the block is solidifying, pressure is supplied to the central portion thereof. After a block is formed, it is annealed and a precompression force is applied thereto sufficient to compress the block to an extent greater than thirty percent of the original dimension of the block as measured parallel to the precompression force. In one embodiment a cushioning unit using the block is made by placing a pair of multi-apertured metal plates on opposite sides of the block with projections on the plates extending against the block and applying a second precompression force to the block and plates sufficient to cause the copolyester polymer elastomer to flow into the apertures in the plates and form a mechanical bond between the block and the plates.

Se describe una placa para un muelle elastomérico comprimible que se forma a partir de un material predeterminado y tiene cada uno de una primera superficie sustancialmente plana, una segunda superficie sustancialmente plana opuesta, un grosor predeterminado y una forma predeterminada. Se proporcionan dientes sobre al menos una superficie de la placa y se extienden hacia afuera a un ángulo predeterminado en relación al mismo para entretrabar mecánicamente la placa con un extremo axial de una almohadilla elastomérica de empalme. Los dientes pueden tener una forma trapezoide. Puede proporcionarse también una abertura axial con los dientes ubicados sobre o en cercana proximidad a un borde periférico de las aberturas. Los dientes también pueden ser provistos sobre la superficie opuesta de la placa para entretrabar mecánicamente la placa con un extremo axial de otra almohadilla elastomérica de empalme. También se proporcionan proyecciones tipo anillo anular para entretrabar mecánicamente la placa a por lo menos una almohadilla elastomérica.

A plate for a compressible elastomeric spring is formed from a predetermined material and has each of a first substantially flat surface, an opposed second substantially flat surface, a predetermined thickness and a predetermined shape. Prongs are provided on at least one surface of the plate and extend outwardly at a predetermined angle relative thereto for mechanically interlocking the plate with an axial end an abutting elastomeric pad. Prongs may have trapezoidal shape. An axial aperture may be also provided with the prongs located on or in close proximity to a peripheral edge of the apertures. Prongs may be also provided on the opposed surface of the plate for mechanically interlocking the plate with an axial end of another abutting elastomeric pad. Annular ring-like projections are also provided for mechanically interlocking the plate to at least one elastomeric pad.
