An improved composite structural member comprising a complex profile structural member, made of a composite comprising a polypropylene polymer and a wood fiber. The material is useful in conventional construction applications. The complex profile, in the form of an extruded thermoplastic composite member can be used in residential and commercial structures as described. Preferably, the structural member is used in the manufacture of the fenestration components such as windows and doors. Such linear members are designed with specifically configured cross-sectional shapes to form structural elements in the fenestration units. Structural elements must possess sufficient strength, thermal stability and weatherability to permit the manufacture of a structurally sound window unit that can be easily installed into a rough opening but can maintain its attractive appearance and structural integrity over the life of the window unit often twenty years or more. The structural member comprises a hollow complex cross-section with at least one structural web or one fastener web formed within the component. The exterior of the extruded component has a visible capstock layer and is shaped and adapted for installation in rough openings. The exterior also contains shape and components capable of supporting the elements of the fenestration unit such as a window, sash or movable door unit. The improved polypropylene structural members have unique advantages and can be assembled in thermoplastic weld processes.

An outermost layer ( 4 ) of a polymer blend similar to that used for the innermost layer ( 2 ) may be provided for heat-sealing. The layers ( 2, 3 and 4 ) may be brought and adhered to the fibrous base ( 1 ) by coextrusion. To maximize renewability of the materials HDPE and LLDPE as used for the structure are of biologic origin.

This apparatus is a continuous processing device designed to remove labels and similar contaminants from granulated material prior to its reclamation into a manufactured product. The apparatus is particularly suited to the removal of adhesive backed product labels affixed to plastic base materials subsequent to granulation of the intact plastic item. This allows reprocessing of label-contaminated plastic containers into plastic pellets with greater economy and a higher purity of the end product. The need for this process is particularly acute with blow molded plastic containers which have paper or plastic labels affixed to large areas of their surface. Because this apparatus is continuous in operation, it can be placed in line with other automatic processing equipment such as granulators, washers, classifiers, and extruders. The success of this apparatus results from a combination of physical and thermal forces generated within the equipment which remove the adhesive from the plastic base. A further air classification process removes the waste fiber or adhesive products from the salvageable granulated material.

A film consisting essentially of a continuous phase linear polyester matrix having dispersed therein a non-crosslinked random SAN-polymer and dispersed or dissolved therein at least one ingredient from the group of ingredients consisting of inorganic opacifying pigments, whitening agents, colorants, UV-absorbers, light stabilizers, antioxidants and flame retardants, wherein the film is white, microvoided, non-transparent and axially stretched; the linear polyester matrix has monomer units consisting essentially of at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid, at least one aliphatic diol and optionally at least one aliphatic dicarboxylic acid; the weight ratio of the linear polyester to the non-crosslinked SAN-polymer is in the range of 2.0:1 to 19.0:1; and one of said at least one aromatic dicarboxyate monomer units is isophthalate and said isophthalate is present in said polyester matrix in a concentration of 15 mole % or less of all the dicarboxylate monomer units in said linear polyester matrix; the use of the non-transparent microvoided axially stretched film as a synthetic paper; an image recording element comprising the non-transparent microvoided axially stretched film; a process for the preparing of the non-transparent microvoided axially stretched film; and a process for obtaining a transparent pattern therewith.

Грубые частицы обрабатываемого материала в процессе тонкого измельчения одновременно подвергают действию напряжений на срез и на вытяжку для отделения от них лака. Тонкое измельчение грубых частиц производят с их разрывом на волокнистую фракцию, причем в результате получают тонкоизмельченный пластмассовый материал со средними размерами волокон 0,5 - 6 мм длины и 0,005 - 0,5 мм толщины. Грубые частицы подают в зазор между вращающимся и неподвижным размалывающими дисками агрегата размола. Тонкоизмельченный пластмассовый материал после первичного прохода через размывающий агрегат просеивают и его фракцию с частицами, размеры которых отклоняются от заданных, повторно подают в размалывающий агрегат для повторного измельчения на волокна. Для тонкого измельчения в качестве размалывающего агрегата используют отбойно-отражательную, предпочтительно тарельчатую отбойно-отражательную мельницу или мокрый способ. Лакированные пластмассовые детали вместе с возможными металлическими компонентами в них перед грубым измельчением предварительно измельчают в ножевой мельнице до размеров чипсов величиной с ладонь. Размолу в грубые частицы лакированные пластмассовые детали подвергают в ножевой мельнице, например, мокрым способом. Грубые частицы из потока целевого продукта подвергают разделению по удельному весу в гидроциклоне. Полу чаемые тонкоизмельченные пластмассовые волокна и частицы лака подвергают сортировке, воздушному просеиванию в циклоне и сепарации в отстойной жидкостной установке или в гидроциклоне. Отделенные частицы пластмассы для получения обогащенного пластмассового продукта подают на экструдер, обезвоживают посредством вакуума и гранулируют. Disclosed is a process for producing a crimp-bonded fibrous cellulosic laminate. The process includes the steps of: 1) providing at least two superposed plies of a fibrous cellulosic material; 2) passing the superposed plies through a crimp roll arrangement including a rotating crimp element and a rotating anvil element; and 3) applying a pressure load against the rotating elements sufficient to crimp bond the fibrous cellulosic material plies into a laminate. The crimp element has protruding members configured in a discontinuous pattern aligned on an axis that is parallel to the cross-machine direction to provide a substantially continuous uniform area of localized surface contacts between the rotating crimp and anvil elements across the width of the plies.
