A method of fabricating composite tubular door frame is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of laying-up a plurality layers of prepreg composite fabrics on a mould having an upper mould component and a lower mould component, and each layer of the composite fabric being compacted; placing a plurality of nylon tubes over the composite fabric at the upper mould component with the ends of the nylon tubes being extended out at each of the corners of the mould to be sealed with a main bag placed over the top and envelope the upper mould component; proceeding the mould to a curing step with a curing pressure of 4 to 7 bars with 0.3 to 0.7 bar vacuum, the mould being heated in an autoclave to 80 degree C. and hold for 30 min. to 1.5 hour with 0.3 to 0.7 bar of vacuum in the enclosure enveloped the main bag sealed with the nylon tubes; and removing the main bag from the mould and the nylon tubes being pulled out of from the mold and removing the mould to obtain a tubular door frame. Excess composite fabric is trimmed off from the fabricated tubular door frame.

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A composite chassis subframe structure for an automobile is provided having improved structural performance over comparable steel structures through the use of closed structural sections, reinforcing fiber orientation, and selective use of steel inserts. A foam core is sandwiched between reinforcing fiber preforms and is further wrapped with additional reinforcing fiber cloth. Steel inserts for attaching suspension and other chassis components are also wrapped and retained to the foam core. The sandwiched and wrapped foam core is then placed in a mold where the steel inserts are precision located on tooling pins, the mold is closed and plastic resin is injected thereby impregnating the fibers. Upon curing, the resin binds the structure which is now completed with the inserts locked in place to very close dimensions.

A method for producing a pant-style garment from a substrate having a plurality of tensioned garters. A garter is any continuous loop of elastic material or a laminate of elastic bands and one or more flexible backing sheets. In one embodiment a substrate is joined to one or more mandrels having tensioned garters fitted thereon. Substrate material is removed from within the loop of the garter, thereby forming apertures in the substrate. The substrate is folded along its longitudinal centerline such that its longitudinal edges meet. The substrate is subsequently joined along lines of joinder, and the substrate is cut into individual pant-style garments. In preferable embodiments, a process for providing elastics to the longitudinal edges of the substrate, thereby producing elasticized waistbands is included.
