This invention relates to precisely obtaining a head temperature free from influence of a signal transferred to a printhead, without slowing down the printing speed. In a printing apparatus which includes a printhead including a plurality of printing elements and a temperature sensor, and divides the plurality of printing elements into a plurality of blocks to print while performing division driving of the plurality of printing elements for each block, the head temperature is detected as follows. First, one printing period determined by a printhead driving frequency is divided into an active period required for the division driving and an inactive period required for A/D-converting an analog temperature data signal from the temperature sensor. While a signal required to drive the printhead is transferred in the active period, a digital signal A/D-converted from the temperature data signal from the printhead is read in the inactive period.

To reduce unevenness in print density. A three-dimensional inkjet printer has a medium holding portion 40 which holds a medium M on which a vibration generator 50 which applies vibrations to the medium holding portion 40 is mounted. Then, vibrations are generated from the vibration generator 50 when ink droplets are ejected from an inkjet head 20 by relatively moving the medium holding portion 40 and inkjet head 20 while rotating the medium holding portion 40 . Because of this, the medium M held by the medium holding portion 40 vibrates, and the landing positions of ink droplets ejected from the inkjet head 20 deviate non-uniformly overall. Because of this, the deviation of dot positions becomes visually inconspicuous, and unevenness in print density decreases.

Capacitive load drive circuit, fluid ejection device and medical device

Номер: US20120236051A1
Принадлежит: Seiko Epson Corp

Operation of a digital power amplifier for power amplification of a modulated signal is stopped in a period in which a voltage value of a drive signal applied to a capacitive load is constant, to thereby suppress power loss. The power amplification is stopped either when half a period of time when the modulated signal in a first voltage state maintains the first voltage state elapses or when half a period of time when the modulated signal in a second voltage state which is lower in voltage than the first voltage state maintains the second voltage state elapses. Accordingly, when electric current does not flow in a inductor of a low pass filter, it is possible to stop the power amplification. Thus, it is possible to prevent generation of voltage fluctuation in the drive signal due to an electromotive force caused by a self-induction phenomenon of the inductor.

Fluid Ejecting Apparatus and Fluid Ejecting Method

Номер: US20130120483A1
Принадлежит: Seiko Epson Corp

A fluid ejecting apparatus includes first and second nozzle groups that eject first and second fluids respectively; a third nozzle group that does not eject any fluid; and a controlling section that performs image formation and transportation operations, including ejecting the first and second fluids while moving the first and second nozzle groups in a movement direction, and transporting the medium relative to the first and second nozzle groups in a predetermined direction. The controlling section performs control for forming a first image using the first nozzle group and for forming a second image on the first image using at least the second nozzle group. Relative to the predetermined direction, the first nozzle group is located upstream of the second nozzle group, and the third nozzle group is located downstream of the first nozzle group and is located upstream of the second nozzle group.
