Die Aluminiumlegierung beinhaltet von etwa 4 Gew.-% bis etwa 11 Gew.-% Silizium, von mehr als 0,2 Gew.-% bis etwa 0,5 Gew.-% Chrom, von etwa 0,1 Gew.-% bis etwa 0,5 Gew.-% Magnesium, von etwa 0,01 Gew.-% bis etwa 0,1 Gew.-% Titan, gleich oder kleiner als etwa 0,5 Gew.-% Eisen, gleich oder kleiner als etwa 0,5 Gew.-% Mangan, und einen Rest Aluminium. Die Aluminiumlegierung wird einer Lösungswärmebehandlung unterzogen. Die Aluminiumlegierung wird abgeschreckt, und die Aluminiumlegierung wird bei einer Aushärtetemperatur von ca. 140 °C bis 175 °C für einen Zeitraum von ca. 3 Stunden bis ca. 35 Stunden ausgehärtet.

A method of forming a casting includes providing a preform to a mold cavity. The preform is formed from one of a first metal and a second metal and defines an interface surface. An interface layer at the interface surface, a first portion defined by the mold cavity and the interface layer, and a second portion defined by the interface layer, are formed during casting. Disclosed is a method for extending service life of a sacrificial-layer-free aluminum alloy wheel by laser shock, comprising: performing finite element analysis each position of the wheel under actual working conditions; connecting the to-be-peened wheel to a fixture on a robot; determining laser shock peening parameters; upon laser shock, performing cleaning treatment on the shocked wheel to remove surface ablating; and performing paint spraying treatment on the processed aluminum alloy wheel. The method provided by the present disclosure can not only improve surface hardness of the aluminum alloy wheel, but also form a residual compressive stress layer on a subsurface, thereby restraining crack propagation, prolonging the service life of an aluminum alloy wheel hub and improving stability of the hub. 1. A method for extending service life of a sacrificial-layer-free aluminum alloy wheel by laser shock , wherein the method comprises the steps of:(1) determining to-be-peened positions of the wheel by performing finite element analysis of the stress condition of each position of the wheel under actual working conditions;(2) connecting the wheel to a fixture on a robot, and generating a wheel motion path;(3) determining laser shock peening parameters, starting up the robot and laser devices, and controlling the wheel to move to be subjected to laser shock peening treatment;(4) after laser shock, moving the shocked surface of the wheel to a focus of a laser cleaner by the robot, and performing cleaning treatment of the shocked wheel; and(5) performing paint spraying treatment on the processed wheel.2. The method for extending service life of a sacrificial-layer-free aluminum alloy wheel by laser shock according to claim 1 , wherein an ablating layer formed by laser shock is removed by a laser cleaning method.3. A rear hub assembly includes a single shell that forms a non-drive-side spoke flange and a drive-side spoke flange. Water drain holes, located through the sidewalls of hollow rims for vehicle wheels not sealed from water ingress, is described herein to provide an egress for accumulated water. The water drain holes in a wheel rim can be for any type of vehicle utilizing a hollow rim design for wheels when not sealed from water ingress. Without drain holes, accumulated water inside a hollow rim adds significant weight, which produces undesirable effects, such as resistance to the vehicle driver input to accelerate, steer, and otherwise control the vehicle, such as but not limited to a bicycle. Also, accumulated water inside a hollow rim enables increased galvanic current conductivity, producing corrosion. 1. A wheel rim comprising a hollow design , sometimes called “double-wall” design , wherein the side walls have water drain holes. The hollow rim sidewall holes are an egress , a drain from the inner area of the rim , allowing accumulated water which had ingress by spokes and nipples through the rim spoke bed holes. In hollow rims accumulated water is otherwise retained for long periods of time adding weight and accelerating corrosion due to galvanic current conductivity. This invention is related to a lightweight process of manufacturing a bicycle's rim and a rim structure manufactured thereby. A rim frame comprising an inner frame, a cladding part, and a support part between the inner frame and the cladding part. The inner frame and the support part are milled to form plural through holes uniformly distributed thereon. The areas occupied by the through holes is 35% to 85% of a total surface of the inner frame and the support part. Moreover, a proper distance is formed between the adjacent through holes in the process, and a carbon fiber layer covers the outer surface of the rim frame. Therefore, the weight of the bicycle's rim is decreased, and the carbon fiber layer can stably attach on the rim frame to increase the structural strength of the rim.

A method of manufacturing an aluminum wheel for a vehicle includes preparing a low density material having particles pulverized. A binder is supplied to the low density material so that the low density material is mixed in a paste state. A wheel core manufacturing mold is heated to 200 to 350° C. and injected into the wheel core manufacturing mold. The wheel core manufacturing mold is closed, a pressure of about 5 to 20 bar is applied, the pressure is maintained for 1 to 5 minutes to solidify the low density material, and the wheel core is ejected. The ejected wheel core is mounted on an aluminum wheel casting mold. The aluminum wheel casting mold is closed, and a pressure of about 1 to 2 bar is applied, and an aluminum molten metal is injected. The aluminum wheel is then ejected from the aluminum wheel casting mold.
