The gas turbine drives a number of electric generators which is turn drive electric motors used for driving vehicle wheels. The gas turbine (10) drives electric generators (12), connected by cables (14) to the electric motors (16) which in turn drive the vehicle wheels. The intake air stream is used for cooling of motors and generators and this air is preheated to improve turbine efficiency. The gas turbine cooling water can be evaporated for powering a steam turbine. The turbine plant is used for accelerating and retarding purposes by connecting and disconnecting the generators and motors. Fresh water can be supplied to the storage tank of the steam turbine which drives additional generators.

The rotary pneumatic motor can be used anywhere, and requires preferably compressed nitrogen in a non-liquid state. Automotive, marine and electrical generating applications are adaptable, and auxiliary power is available for emergencies where a supply of compressed gas has been exhausted. A screw-type compressor can be electrically powered to supply compressed gas to the pneumatic motor where tanks of compressed gas have been exhausted. An electrical generating power plant includes an array of solar panels for generating direct current (DC) and a DC/AC converter for converting the DC to alternating current (AC) and outputting a portion of the AC via a power plant output port to supply an AC load.

A vehicle, e.g. an endless track vehicle, having a driving wheel axle perpendicular to the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle, is driven by a gas turbine power plant including an air compressor the rotor of which is coaxial with the power turbine, the axis of which is transverse to the fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle and the power plant being located above the wheel axle casing, the air intake and gas exhaust being located on opposite sides' of the vehicle. The endless tracks 2 of a vehicle, e.g. a tank, are driven by wheels 3 supported on an axle contained within a casing 4. The power unit comprises a power turbine 5, a compressor 7 driven by a turbine 6 and a combustion chamber 7a to which fuel is fed by conventional means. The power turbine shaft 8 and compressor shaft 9 are coaxial and independent of one another. The axis of the power unit may be off-set towards the front of the vehicle relative to the axis of the driving axle so that the plane containing these axes makes an angle of more than 20 degrees and less than 90 degrees with the vertical. The driving axle is driven through clutches 20 and 22 from a shaft 15. The change speed and track steering gears are located in the casing 4, power for a steering mechanism 25 being taken from the shaft 15 through pinions 23 and 24. The fuel tank 14 may be located beneath the power unit. The air intake duct 10 and gas exhaust 11 may be slightly upwardly inclined and protected by shields 12 and 13.

Using Turbine engines allow the reduction of multiple storage batteries in existing designs to at most two batteries. The improvements made in the Super Hybrid design have the advantages of extending the fuel consumption from an average of 60 miles to a gallon to more than 100 miles per gallon, reducing fuel emission, and reducing the cost of the multiple battery pack by about 80%. The improvements made in the Enhanced Electrical Cars have vehicle cost reduction advantages with 80% reduction in the cost of the series parallel battery pack, and longer battery life cycles.

The vacuum 2 which sucks air from the atmosphere, fills the compressor 1. A part 3 of the car has slits in the side of the car so vacuum 2 can draw the car. In figure 2, the wind resisting material (4) is shown which resists the air from the compressor 1 and is driven forwards or backwards and turns the wheels. There are cogs (5 see fig 2) which are connected to the axle of the wheels (7 see fig 2). The cogs (5) are turned the air compressor 1 blowing the material (4) thus turning the main driving system and hence turning the wheels. The RPS has an air intake assembly having at least one air intake member. The present invention introduces a retrofit method of regenerative braking where no components of an automobile are to be replaced or removed and none of their functionality is modified. The recovering energy system is implemented as an additional, one piece, complete device, placed onto the existing automobile wheel's hub, and covered by the automobile's wheel. The variation is effected by varying the angle of the torque converter stator blades 44 through rotation of a shaft 53 by the arrangement illustrated in Fig. 4. In Fig. 4 an input driven pump 76 supplies fluid at a pressure regulated by a valve 81 to a governor 88 which has, as its output, input speed dependent pressure. The pump 76 also supplies pressure to a variable throttle 101, 102 whose valve member 101 is moved by throttle control 63 to vary the pressure in the chamber 172 of a spring 182 biased servo 157. In series with servo 157, and connected to its piston-rod 181 is a further spring biased servo 158 which receives pressure from the governor 88 via a speed signal control 116 in the form of a variable throttle 134, 136 and a spring biased servo which varies the throttle opening on dependence on the governor output pressure. The two servos 157, 158 move together to rock a lever 213 and vary the vane angle through a servo 216 which rotates shaft 53 through lever 222. In operation initial movement from the closed position to an intermediate position of the throttle control 63 does not directly control the engine fuel supply, which is determined by a bell-crank control 108 having a lost-motion connection 106 with the lever 63, and which maintains the engine at a governed idling speed, but opens throttle 101, 102 to supply the servo 157 with pressure, which causes the vanes 44 to be opened ...

This provides compensation of gyroscopic moment of high-speed rotating parts of power unit. Use of proposed invention, as compared with known devices, increases efficiency of utilization of energy of vehicles to 55 - 60%, makes it possible to create ecologically clean vehicles, improves control of vehicles employing high-speed turbines owing to compensation of gyroscopic moment, change over from internal combustion engine to more efficient, reliable and light gas- steam turbines and medium frequency electric generators and provides additional saving of energy to 65% owing to regeneration of kinetic energy at frequent braking and acceleration of vehicle on city roads, almost four-time reduction of consumption of chemical fuel and complete replacement of chemical fuel by heat energy produced by small-size reactor in process of synthesis of elementary particles. The invention relates to a rotary thermal engine having air/steam pressure and a generator drive, in an electric vehicle having an additional compressed air tank, which is filled at base stations by off-peak electricity systems and automatically charges its own batteries when parked. According to the invention, time-consuming charging processes by means of insufficient service networks in today's electric vehicles can be eliminated and heavy, expensive batteries can be reduced in size. The invention relates to a compressed air engine for propelling a motor vehicle without emitting carbon monoxide. It consists of a turbine, of a compressor, of an electric motor and of an air circuit with its tank. When the pressure in the circuit is insufficient, an electric motor drives the compressor which supplies air to the tank. When the pressure has become sufficient, a pneumatic cylinder uncouples the compressor from the electric motor in order to couple it to the turbine by virtue of the gear on the end of each of the shafts of these members. With sufficient pressure, the driver opens a tap then the air goes from the tank to the turbine passing through a metering valve connected to the accelerator pedal. The air blowing into the turbine exerts a force on the immediately opposite blade of the rotor. The turbine rotor, subjected to a couple rotates through an angle about its axis, presenting the next blade to the jet of air; and so on, the rotor rotates with a flywheel at its other end on which are fixed the clutch mechanism and clutch disc which are driven. If a gear is engaged the movement is transmitted to the drive wheels which propel the vehicle. During operation the compressor, integral with the rotor pumps air so that a sufficient pressure is always available. The compressed air engine is particularly intended for propelling motor vehicles.

An oil pressure chamber is coupled to the input of a turbine for driving the turbine with hydraulic fluid under pressure. A lower cylinder has a piston movably mounted therein for movement in axial directions. The output end of the lower cylinder is coupled to the oil pressure chamber. An upper cylinder has a piston movably mounted therein for movement in axial directions and coupled to the piston of the lower cylinder for movement therewith. A hydraulic fluid supply is coupled to the output end of the lower cylinder for supplying hydraulic fluid to the lower cylinder. A fuel and air mixture supply is coupled to the output end of the upper cylinder for supplying a fuel and air mixture to the upper cylinder. A coupling device couples the output end of the upper cylinder to the input end of the lower cylinder whereby movement of the piston from the input end to output end in the upper cylinder compresses the fuel and air mixture and supplies it to the input end of the lower cylinder. A spark device in the input end of the lower cylinder explodes the fuel and air mixture in the lower cylinder thereby moving the piston thereof from the input end to the output end to compress the hydraulic fluid in the output end thereof and supply it to the oil pressure chamber and thence to the turbine to drive the turbine.
