The shaft breakaway may not rotate in unison with the actuator breakaway when the shafts are disengaged. The drive shaft may be operably connected to the shaft breakaway such that rotation of the shaft breakaway causes rotation of the drive shaft. An external force on the drive shaft that exceeds a threshold may cause rotation of the shaft breakaway such that the breakaway mechanism disengages the shaft breakaway and the actuator breakaway.

The shape of the illustrated light strip is specially designed for attachment to the round tubing of a bicycle frame. Highly visible detented light mounts for trucks or trailers have light fixtures of selected configurations coupled by rotatable arms to rigid, tubular stands. Each stand is axially biased to a rigid, tubular spring housing by an internal core-drilled fastener that coaxially secures an internal spring. The stand and spring housing can have different lengths and configurations. A pair of friction washers, one on the stand and the other on the housing, mutually abut. Protrusions on one washer register with corresponding dimples or depressions on another washer to cause a detent effect. The housing and the stands may in each embodiment be torsionally displaced against friction caused by the spring biased washers that interfit to form radially spaced-part semi-fixed “detented” positions. Various washer configurations are proposed.

Provided is a lighting device to be installed in a vehicle, more particularly, a lighting device having a structure in which a plurality of unit lighting modules are installed on a bracket. A multi-function vehicle lamp having a plurality of light emitting diodes includes a turn input and a tail input with a switch configured to stop current flowing through the tail input when the turn input is energized to increase current flow through the turn input to satisfy minimum current draw requirements of a vehicle current meter that detects turn indicator failure. The lamp may include a single combined turn/stop input, or may include separate turn and stop inputs. Lamps having separate turn and stop inputs block current flow through the stop input when the turn input is energized. 1. A vehicle lamp comprising:a plurality of light emitting diodes configured to illuminate in response to receiving a signal on a turn input or on a tail input; anda switch configured to selectively block current flow from the tail input to the plurality of light emitting diodes in response to the signal on the turn input.2. The vehicle lamp of wherein the switch is further configured to allow current flow from the tail input to the plurality of light emitting diodes when no signal is applied to the turn input.3. The vehicle lamp of further comprising a stop input claim 1 , wherein the plurality of light emitting diodes is further configured to illuminate in response to receiving the signal on the stop input.4. The vehicle lamp of wherein the switch is further configured to selectively block current flow from the stop input to the plurality of light emitting diodes in response to the signal on the turn input.5. An adaptive cornering light system for a motor vehicle includes an exterior mirror head, housing at least one lighting module that having a plurality of LEDs arranged in sectors to provide different lighting functionalities. One LED or light sector is provided for adaptively illuminating a cornering area that extends along the side of the vehicle toward the front of the exterior mirror head. This “cornering LED” is adaptively activated if the speed of the vehicle is below a threshold speed, or in response to additional optional parameters such as steering angle, turn-signal blinker activation, and running lights activation. Another LED or light sector may be used as a security light to illuminate or display a message on the ground in the door area adjacent the side of the vehicle. Interior lights are also disclosed.
