An auxiliary power system for trucks, the power system having a small diesel engine coupled to an air conditioner compressor and an automotive style DC alternator. During hot weather the auxiliary engine rotates the air conditioner compressor to provide cool air to the truck accessories by load management controls alternator current output to provide DC power to accessories and for battery charging. When peak loads occur, the voltage is reduced into the field of the alternator in a form of load management wherein the truck batteries act as the power sink and the alternator is used to replenish any power drawn from the truck batteries when the peak demand is removed. During cold weather the engine coolant is used to cool the auxiliary engine and is circulated through a heat exchanger for warming of the truck interior, full capacity of the alternator is allowed accommodating the higher amp draws typical of cold weather diesel operation.

A rail-vehicle ventilation system that reduces discomfort, felt by passengers, resulting from sudden changes of the vehicle-internal pressure when the vehicle-external pressure changes suddenly, without stopping ventilation for a long time, shuts off an air-supply valve and an exhaust valve in a case where a variation in the vehicle-external pressure is equal to or larger than a tolerance, and opens the air-supply valve and the exhaust valve in a case where the pressure difference between the outside of the vehicle and the inside of the vehicle is within a tolerance range. Thereby, the rail-vehicle ventilation system suppresses propagation of a sudden pressure change outside the vehicle to the inside of the vehicle without stopping ventilation for a long time.

U-образные УФ-лампы 3 установлены в камере 2 обеззараживания, образуя параллельные ряды, продольные оси симметрии которых расположены в горизонтальной плоскости параллельно направлению потока 4 обрабатываемого воздуха, при этом расстояние между горизонтальными рядами U-образных УФ-лампы 3 от 50 до 200 мм. A railcar backup cooling system may be added to an existing railcar (e.g., a boxcar) to provide supplemental or backup cooling to the railcar in the event that an HVAC failure or other circumstance occurs, which causes the interior temperature of the railcar to rise. The system includes a container of liquid or compressed gas mounted on the railcar, a valve controlling the flow of the liquid or gas from the container, and a controller configured to open the valve when the HVAC system fails or is otherwise unable to maintain the railcar at the desired temperature. The coolant may be circulated by pumping the coolant in the first cooling circuit via a first pumping device, and pumping the coolant in the second coolant circuit via a second pumping device. The first pumping device and the second pumping device may each be operated in a normal mode. The method may further include cooling the coolant via at least one cooling element arranged in at least one of the first cooling circuit and the second cooling circuit.
