In a method of lubricating a curved section of a railway track subjected to wear by the wheel-flanges of passing railroad vehicles the rail section is intermittently lubricated with lubricant from a lubricating shot-unit or metering-unit provided with a nozzle. The shots of lubricant may be controlled by using a signal voltage applied between the rails or by means of an electric transducer, an inductive transducer, a coupling clock or the like. Compressed air and/or lubricant is applied through lines to the metering-unit from separate storage containers arranged at a distance from the unit. In one embodiment a propelling-gas of reduced pressure is caused, via a control unit, to control in a pulse-like fashion a metering valve associated with said metering-unit. The invention also refers to an apparatus for the intermittent discharge of a working substance, e.g. grease for lubricating railway tracks, by means of a propelling-gas under high pressure such as nitrogen gas.

A method of lubricating a section (usually curved) of rail of a railway track subjected to wear by the wheelflanges of passing railroad vehicles involves intermittently propelling discrete pellets of lubricant horizontally forcefully against an inner side surface of the rail section. The shots of lubricant may be controlled by using a signal voltage applied between the rails or by means of an electric transducer, an inductive transducer, a clock or the like. Compressed air and/or lubricant is applied to a metering dispenser from separate storage containers arranged at a distance from the dispenser which is horizontally spaced from an inner side surface of the rail section. The lubricant pellets are propelled with such force as to ensure that the lubricant contacts the surface even in the presence of normal obstacles such as ice and snow.

Стрелочный перевод с пониженным износом рамного рельса и остряков

Задачей заявляемого технического решения является обеспечение бесперебойной и безопасной работы стрелочного перевода при движении подвижных составов. Технический результат заключается в создании в зоне контакта колесо-рельс защитной газовой среды с минимальным содержанием атмосферного воздуха, и как следствие снижение износа остряков стрелочного перевода, в снижении расхода защитной газовой среды. Технический результат достигается стрелочным переводом с пониженным износом рамного рельса и остряков, содержащий рамные рельсы и остряки с установленными на них устройствами подачи в зону контакта колесо-рельс защитной газообразной среды (ЗГС), датчики контроля положения колесной пары подвижного состава, расположенные перед устройствами подачи ЗГС по ходу движения подвижного состава, при этом устройствами подачи ЗГС автоматически управляет регулирующее устройство, состоящее из расходной газовой рампы с регулятором давления, установленной на баллонах с ЗГС и соединенной трубопроводами с ресивером и блоком электрических клапанов, которые управляются программируемым контроллером, с подключенными к нему бесконтактными датчиками (сенсорами) положения остряков и положения колесной пары, а устройство подачи ЗГС выполнено в виде блока газовых форсунок (коллектора), исполненного в виде трубчатого элемента, заглушенного с одной стороны и имеющего с другой стороны штуцер для присоединения через трубопровод к электрическому клапану, с равноудаленно расположенными на нем форсунками, формирующими газовый факел и направляющими его в область контакта колесо-остряк, и закрытого защитным кожухом. 5 з.п. ф-лы, 10 ил. An improved method and apparatus for determining the amount of lubricant dispensed to a rail, adjusting the amount of available lubricant for dispensing based on the amount of lubricant remaining, and advising the operator of same. The apparatus includes a reservoir of lubricant suspended from a load beam having load cells communicating with a microprocessor and a controller to determine the amount of lubricant remaining within the reservoir on a real-time basis as lubricant is dispersed. The method includes the determination of the amount of lubricant remaining and, following dispensing additional lubricant, re-determining the amount of lubricant remaining. In this manner, an operator may prepare a schedule for replenishment of the reservoirs of various lubricating stations based on feedback of the remaining amount of lubricant remaining. Thus, an operator may predict track downtime for refilling of a plurality of lubricating stations and schedule such to minimized track downtime.

본 발명은 철도 레일 중 곡각지점에 설치되는 레일 상에 원심력으로 인한 레일 및 열차의 차륜이 마모되고 소음이 다대하게 발생요인을 일소할 수 있도록 레일 상에 자동으로 그리스(grease)와 같은 윤활제를 자동으로 급유할 수 있도록 한 도유기(道油機)를 제공코자 하는 것이다. 즉, 본 발명은 원심력에 의해 열차가 철로의 곡각지점을 지날 때 발생하는 레일과 열차 차륜의 마모현상 및 소음을 효과적으로 감쇄시킬 수 있도록 레일과 차륜 상간에 그리스를 자동으로 도포할 수 있는 것으로서, 본 발명은 특히 열차의 곡각지점 진입을 적외선빔센서(35) 및 진동감지센서(34)가 선택적으로 자동 감지하여 점도가 높은 그리스를 피스톤(16)으로 이송관(21)을 통하여 송출하고, 노즐부(5)에서 적정의 토출압력을 유지한 상태로 대기하다가 그리스를 열차의 객차수에 맞게 사전 설정된 양만큼 적량씩 토출하여 원심력에 의해 레일과 열차의 차륜이 마모되는 것을 효과적으로 저감시킬 수 있으며, 더불어 곡각지점을 열차가 통과시 소음도 저감시킬 수 있는 것이며, 그리스의 토출량 및 토출 시간이 사전 설정된 양만큼 소정 시간에 소정량씩 자동으로 도유되므로 그리스만 보관탱크(3)에 보충만 해주면 별도의 관리가 필요치 않아 유지보수 인력도 최소화할 수 있고, 철로 주변의 오손 등을 미연에 방지하여 환경오염에도 일조할 수 있는 등 다수의 효과를 기대할 수 있는 것이다.

Force-feed lubricators.-Semi-solid lubricant is supplied to the inner faces of the wheel flanges of railway or tramway vehicles &c., to reduce friction against the guide or check rails by expressing it from a suitable closed receptacle. A box 1, containing grease or semi-solid lubricant, is placed in proximity to the rail 2, and is provided with holes 3 through which the lubricant is forced on to the flanges of passing wheels. The box 1 contains a piston 4 on a screwed spindle 6 operated by ratchet gearing 7, 8. A treadle bar 12, which is depressed by the wheel flanges, is connected by a link 10 to a pivoted lever 9 carrying the pawl 8. The bar 12 is restored to its normal position by a counterweight 14 or by springs. Stops 15 are provided for the links 10, 13. To prevent the piston 4 from fracturing the cover of the box 1 at the end of its stroke, a portion of the spindle 6 is unthreaded as shown. Grease boxes such as shown at 1 may be carried on tram-cars, being operated by the driver or by automatic means.

In or for rail-and-flange lubricating apparatus for railway tracks of the kind including distributing means for location on a track rail 3 receiving lubricant from a reservoir 41 through one or more pumps, the actuating means therefor including an element 26 disposed in the path of the passing wheels of rolling stock to operate a pump 40 or pumps whereby lubricant is forced from the reservoir 41 to the distributing means for direction to the rail surface(s), the element 26 is operatively connected by hydraulic- or fluid-pressure-actuated means to a pump 40 to force the lubricant. The actuating means comprises a master cylinder 36 carried by a frame 2 fastened to a rail 3, in which the element 26 is mounted to operate a cylinder plunger through a pivoted lever 30 mounted in the frame 2, the cylinder 36 being connected by a pipe 38 to a slave cylinder 39 which actuates the pump 40. The frame 2 is secured by clamps 9 to a rail 3 and has abutments engageable by parts of the clamps 9. Each clamp 9 comprises a foot 16 engageable with the rail base flange 8 at one side, and a saddle 17 to engage with the flange 8 at the opposite side. The saddle 17 has teeth 20 which selectively engage teeth 21 on a clamp limb 14 to vary the position of the saddle 17 with the flange dimensions. The saddle 17 has a head 22 and recesses 23, 24, engaging selectively with the flange 8 and offset relative to the saddle teeth 20, so that further adjustment of the saddle 17 and clamp 9 is possible. The slave cylinder 39 and the pump 40 are mounted on the reservoir 41, the pump 40 having a hose 50 to deliver lubricant to the distributing means. The tracks of a railroad yard system have an access track and a plurality of switches leading to a plurality of yard tracks are lubricated by a lubricating station positioned on the access track. In addition to lubricating the tracks, lubrication nozzles are directed at the switch plates and switch points of the switches of the system. Detectors are positioned on the yard tracks to determine the speed of the cars as they roll down track and into the yard, and a computer, responsive to these detectors, control the discharge of lubricant by the lubricating station. Detectors are also positioned near each switch plate to detect when each switch plate moves, and a dispensing system dispense lubricant through the nozzle directed toward a switch plate whenever the switch plate is moved.

The modified stick comprises a body member with four sides, a first end and an opposed second end, and a nib member attached to the first end of the body member, the nib member having four sides connected by substantially curved side edges. The second end of the body member contains a cavity with substantially curved side walls dimensioned to snugly receive a nib member of a corresponding interlocking solid stick. To reduce the likelihood of failure of the nib or cavity, the dimensions of the nib are optimized such that a length of one side of the nib member (nl) and a length of the side of the body member (l) in the same plane has a ratio nl/l from about 0.6 to about 0.75.
