The present invention provides a method for improving operation density of rail vehicles and for preventing head-on collision and rear-ending collision. Said method divides a rail line into equidistant electronic zones, the length of a zone being greater than the shortest safe distance between two running vehicles. Said method installs a locomotive passing detection alarm device in each zone, when a locomotive travels at high speed on the rail, the locomotive passing detection alarm device corresponding to the zone occupied by the locomotive itself will simultaneously access adjacent front and back zones, and determine whether the two adjacent zones are simultaneously occupied by locomotives. If the two adjacent. zones are simultaneously occupied by locomotives, the locomotive passing alarm device will send an alarm signal to the locomotives to warn or otherwise take measures. The aforesaid method can avoid locomotive head-on collision and rear-end collision and increase transportation density according to the vehicle speed and distance at the same time, thus improving the transportation efficiency.

The on-board device 1 generates a stop pattern on the basis of the distance, and performs a travel control so that the train A travels at a speed equal to or less than the stop pattern.

Device comprises enclosing block-sections of track through traffic lights 1, 2, 3 and 4, connected to corresponding signal light control blocks 5, 6, 7 and 8, on each of block-sections there installed is automatic interlocking and automatic locomotive signaling equipment, which includes driver track control signal generator 9 and automatic locomotive signaling signals, first output of which is connected to input of automatic locomotive signaling signals selection block 10, and its second output is connected through first matching block 11 to beginning of block-section rail circuit, and end of track circuit of block-section is connected to input/output of second matching block 12, output of which is connected to input of track receiver 13 of rail circuit signal of this block-section, wherein the input of the second matching block 12 is connected to the output of the locomotive signaling signal selection block 10, the operation inhibit input of which is connected to the output of track-type receiver 13 of the rail circuit signals of block-sections. At that, in each set of automatic interlocking and automatic locomotive signaling equipment, installed on a block-section of increased length, block 14 is installed for fixation of head passing of train of the first half of this block section, which is connected via communication channel with signal repeater 15, the output of which is connected to the configuration control input of block 10 for selection of signals of automatic locomotive signaling, which are supplied to the rail line of this block-section.
