Both active and passive buoyancy compensation can be provided using a compressible mixture made of a liquid along with a hydrophopic material such as a powder, electrospun fiber, or foam. The present invention relates to a portable boat with catamaran configuration. The boat basically consists of two inflatable floats joined by two connecting bars with plates at their ends for fastening the connecting bars to the floats. A rigid platform can be assembled between the two connecting bars, forming a deck for the occupant. The present invention allows the occupant to remain standing on the rigid platform while using a paddle to propel the boat. The lateral floats provide greater stability, making it easier for the occupant to keep his balance. Removable fins can be mounted on the rear underside of each float to help keep a straight path and improve performance (decreasing zigzags, and allowing a greater number of paddle strokes before having to change sides). The boat exhibits high hydrodynamic efficiency and can be disassembled so as to occupy a small volume, making it easy to transport and store.

The present disclosure relates generally to knee braces for boats. The knee braces described herein are particularly suitable for use with lightweight, inflatable rafts and kayaks, for example packrafts used in backcountry boating. The knee braces include a fabric body and a plurality of adjustable straps configured to attach the fabric body to a side wall of the boat. 1. A method comprising:securing a knee brace to a side wall of an inflatable watercraft using four releasable attachment points, each attachment point comprising a strap having a portion configured to be attached to the side wall and a free end, andadjusting the length of the free end of each strap using an adjustable fastener.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein adjusting the length of the free end of each strap causes the knee brace to apply a pulling force along the midline of a user's knee during use of the boat.3. An improved mounting device and assembled configuration for deploying a manually operated pullout shade system of the type having a tensioned roller member carrying a flexible canvas sheet and parallel tubular actuators therefor. In one embodiment of the present invention, a mounting device is disclosed for securing the manual pullout shade system onto an arching tubular overhead structure onboard a boat so that the pullout shade may be adjusted in its working attitude and maintained in proper position for deployment. The mounting device includes a set of clamp members each constructed in the form of a figure “8” with associated circular sections on each clamp member being rotatably coupled together. The circular sections of the clamp members are further adapted to engage about sections of the tubular actuators and nearby portions of the overhead structure thereby providing an adjustable joint coupling between them that allows the pullout shade and its tubular actuators to be placed in various positions for deployment. In a second embodiment, the tensioned roller member of the pullout shade system is attached along the front of rooftop structure on the boat and the tubular actuators are separated therefrom and set apart vertically within the gunnel of the boat on opposite sides near the bow. In this assembled configuration, the canvas sheet may be drawn forward from the rooftop structure on the tensioned roller member and the tubular actuator pulled into extended upright positions to connect with the canvas sheet and support the extended forward deployment of the shade system. 1. The invention is defined as a personal watercraft gunwale rod holder complete design, fastened to a personal watercraft gunwale port or starboard. It functions as a support for rod and reels or accessories and incorporates a structure that allows unobstructed access to rod and reels of the personal watercraft port or starboard. 1. A clamp arm comprising:(a) a clamp bar that locks from beneath the rub rail of the gunwale of a personal watercraft;(b) a horizontal tube that welds to said clamp bar;(c) a vertical threaded bar that welds to said horizontal tube;(d) a threaded hole drilled at the top of said vertical threaded bar.2. An adjustable clamp comprising:(e) a clamp square tube with miter joint;(f) a cap welded as a miter joint at the top of said clamp square tube with miter joint;(g) a hole drilled at said cap;(h) a said clamp arm introduced from the bottom of said clamp square tube with miter joint;(i) a knob introduced at said hole;(j) a thread of said knob that is used to adjust said clamp arm by said threaded hole of said vertical threaded bar.3. A gunwale clamp comprising:(k) a said adjustable clamp;(l) two support tabs welded to said adjustable clamp by its said clamp square tube with miter joint;(m) a clamp tab that rests on the exterior of the gunwale rub rail of a personal watercraft and is welded to said support tabs;(n) an angled plate that rests on the top of the gunwale rub rail and bends contouring the interior of the gunwale.4. A gunwale clamp as in claim 3 , wherein said angled plate further comprises a support.5. A gunwale clamp as in claim 4 , wherein said support further comprises fishing rod holders.6. An equipment complex for deploying and recovering marine geophysical seismic or electric-survey bottom stations is mounted on a ship. The complex includes—a powered capstan, —rotatable turntables and rolls, —load-bearing units connected to the bottom stations by various fasten means and capable of winding onto the capstan and turntables, a work platform supporting a bottom station placed thereon, —an indicator for registration of the bottom stations' coordinates, mounted on the platform, —a limit switch mounted on the platform, switching ON when the bottom station is placed on the work platform, and OFF when it's removed therefrom providing for operation of the indicator. The complex may include floating buoys, damping loads, and halyards for deploying the stations. Methods for deploying and recovering the bottom stations using the equipment complex are described.
