Handling system for objects packed in shrunken foil consists of slots stamped in convenient positions in the wrapping foil before it is shrunk. Core pieces are inserted in the slots. With the cores in position the foil is shrunk round the objects. During the shrinking operation, the foil accumulates at the slots and welds together to form a reinforced edge round the core. When the cores are removed the slots, which have the width of a hand form hand grips with reinforced edges for carrying the product.

The invention is concerned with a packaging for calendars. Up to now, calendars have always been packaged in an extremely elaborate manner which is extremely time- and labour intensive. Calendars also suffered badly from being frequently touched prior to be being sold. The invention remedies this by providing a carrying bag with a handle, in which the calendar is inserted. A viewing window is created in order to make viewing possible. According to the invention, the final packaging is thus provided from the outset, viewing of the calendar cover page being, however, ensured at the same time.

A film laminate wound up to form a film roll, from which bags with an integrated handle are produced in a VFFS form-fill and seal bag machine. The film laminate is produced by coating a film web of an outer film with a lamination adhesive and applying a material web of a sealable film to the adhesive layer. The material web is pressed together with the film web and adhesive layer in a lamination gap between a lamination roller and a pressing roller. A reinforcement strip passed to the lamination gap contacts the adhesive layer, between the film web and the sealable film. The circumference surface of the pressing roller has a depression that is coordinated with the film thickness and the film width of the reinforcement strip, so that a uniform pressing pressure prevails in the lamination gap, over the entire width of the laminate.

A hand-held drinking container has a unique shape as a sock. The body looks like a flask and has a screw-on cap on the top into which the liquid drink can be poured. A push spout is located on the “toe” section of the flask. The flask has flat sides and a flat top with curved edge sides joined to the sides and the top. The push spout has a retainer nut thereabout that allows a flexible material in a predetermined shape having a hole therein to be placed over the push spout and secured thereto such as a Xmas sock with a push spout hole therein. This flask and sock combination can then be hung from a hook. In another embodiment, the flask would be made of a flexible plastic bladder material and need not be placed in a sock.

Various containers are provided that include a resiliently deformable product volume and a dispenser configured to dispense fluent product from the product volume. When no dispensing force is applied to the product volume, the product volume has an undeformed state and a first interior volume. When a dispensing force is applied to the product volume, the product volume is resiliently deformable to a deformed state in which the product volume is reduced to a second interior volume less than the first interior volume, and the dispenser can dispense at least some of the fluent product from the product volume. When the dispensing force is released, the product volume fully restores itself to the undeformed state.

Flexible containers with vent systems

Non-durable self-supporting flexible containers having product volumes and structural support frames are provided with vents to facilitate equalization of the pressure inside the product volume to the pressure of the environment outside of the containers. The vents enable rapid recovery of the structural support from a deformed state, which occurs when a fluent product is dispensed, to an undeformed state. For this purpose, the vents comprise vent paths between the environment outside of the containers and the product volume. The present invention provides a process for incorporating a wireless device into a plastic container as part of the steps of manufacturing the container. The plastic container can be a flexible plastic bag and are formed of one or more sheets, generally two or more sheets of plastic film or a rigid plastic container such as a tub or tote. The bags are formed by sealing together adjacent edge portions of each film layer. One embodiment of the present invention is to incorporate a wireless device between the edge portions of the film(s) before or during sealing so that the wireless device becomes permanently sealed into the film material but is isolated from both the bag interior and the outside environment. Another embodiment is to incorporate the wireless device onto or into a plastic component that is sealed to the container, such as a nipple or port, so that the wireless device becomes permanently sealed to the container but is isolated from both the container interior and the outside environment. 1. A heating element is contained within a resealable heating bag. At least one degassing valve is embedded in the surface of the heating bag, providing for a way for steam to be released from the interior of the bag. The heating element comprises powdered aluminum, calcium oxide, calcium carbonate, calcium dihydroxide, sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide that is reacted with water in a two stage chemical reaction to create heat within the heating bag. The element and the heat generated by the heating element is transferred to a packaged food item placed within the heating bag, thereby heating the food item to a desired temperature. The timing and the heat/pressure level of the cooking process inside the sealed bag can be controlled by correlating the interior space of the heating bag and the size of the element and number of degassing valves embedded in the surface of the heating bag.

A paper-based package that can be manufactured using existing blister pack packaging equipment is provided. The package components comprise a face card and a tray blank that can be shipped flat and loaded easily into existing blister package equipment. The package may be formed in the machine just prior to the filling operation, and a paper-to-paper seal may be achieved in the same fashion as in a traditional plastic blister face card seal.
