The liquid absorbing material has a liquid retention characteristic for retaining the vinegar—such that the liquid retention ability reduces as a surface tension of the wetting liquid reduces due to a temperature rise of the wetting liquid over time. The temperature rise of the wetting liquid comes about when heated water at a higher temperature than the wetted liquid comes into contact with the wetting liquid. Preferably the liquid absorbing material is cotton and the wetting liquid is vinegar, such as apple vinegar. The container has an open top closed by a cover or lid and has a bottom. After piercing the cover of lid, heated water to pass through to enter confines of the container and heat the vinegar and mix with it for cleaning a machine that uses single serving beverage filter cartridges.

A capsule can be placed, rim side down, on the base unit over the aperture, and the plunger used to urge the capsule down into the aperture. The result is that the capsule inverts, rupturing the foil layer and emptying the coffee or other infusion into the base unit below the aperture. While the solid bottom part of the brewing chamber blocks the path of least resistance, the biodegradable filter slows the brewing process. The slow brewing process will produce a full-bodied beverage. After its use, the entire pod and its content can be disposed without harming the environment. 1. A capsule is provided for use in a machine for preparing a consumable product from capsules. The capsule includes a body that defines an interior space with an opening. A cover is disposed over the opening and is adapted to shrink sufficiently when pierced by the injection system to allow pressure to build beneath the cover up to a maximum pressure. A filter is disposed in the interior space to define a steeping chamber between the filter and the cover and is adapted to restrict the flow of fluid sufficiently to cause the steeping chamber to fill with fluid without exceeding the maximum pressure. A capsule , for use in a machine for preparing consumable products from capsules , said machine having an injection system that includes at least one injection nozzle for injecting heated fluid into said capsule at a predetermined flow rate , said capsule comprising:a body defining an interior space with an opening;a cover disposed over said opening, said cover being formed of a material that is resistant to tearing and adapted to shrink sufficiently around said at least one injection nozzle, when said at least one injection nozzle pierces said cover and injects heated fluid into said capsule, to create a seal that allows pressure to build within said interior space beneath said cover up to a maximum pressure;a filter disposed in said interior space to define a steeping chamber between said filter and said cover, said filter being formed of one or more materials that are sufficiently phobic to said heated fluid to cause said steeping chamber to fill with fluid without exceeding said maximum pressure; andingredients disposed in said interior space for preparing a desired product.2.
