Verfahren und Vorrichtung zur Reinigung von Prozesswasser in einem hydrothermalen Karbonisierungsprozess

Номер: DE102012107471A1
Принадлежит:

Fluorine and fluorine compounds dissolved at low concentrations in water are efficiently separated by use of hydrated rare earth oxides or insoluble hydrated rare earth salts, particularly hydrous rare earth fluorides or hydrous rare earth phosphates, as the adsorbent. By bringing fluorine dissolved water of pH 2 - 7 into contact with said adsorbent, fiuorine is adsorbed on the adsorbent, and the adsorbed fluorine can be desorbed by contact with an alkali solution of pH 10 to 14 to regenerate said adsorbent. Also, by addition of a precipitating agent for fluorine to the desorbed solution, fluorine compounds can be separated by precipitation and the filtrate can be reused as the regenerating solution for the adsorbent.

Solar sterilization apparatus for incremental boiling

Номер: US0010556810B2

A water sterilizer powered by solar energy is described. A first check valve allows an increment of untreated water to flow from a reservoir into a boiling chamber where it is heated to boiling, and thus sterilized, by focused solar energy. A second check valve with a higher cracking pressure than the first valve remains closed, holding the increment of untreated water in the boiling chamber until the pressure of steam forces the second valve open, thus evacuating the chamber of now-sterilized water. Once the chamber is evacuated, the second valve automatically closes, and the first valve automatically opens, allowing another incremental sterilizing cycle to begin.

Method for removing perfluorinated compounds by concentration and separation

Номер: US0009957172B2

Various embodiments provide methods for removing a PFC by concentration and separation. In an exemplary method, a PFC in an aqueous solution or in a mixed water-organic solvent solution can be adsorbed onto a surface of a floc generated by electroflocculation, to form sludge. The sludge containing the PFC can be centrifuged to separate the PFC from the sludge and to form a concentrated PFC solution. Eelectroflocculation provides a simple process that is easy to operate. Reaction conditions are mild. Energy consumption is low. Treatment effect is desirable, stable, and reliable. Industrial application can be easy to implement. Further, the centrifugal separation technology used for the harmless treatment of the generated PFC-containing sludge is novel and does not need to use chemicals. Further, dewatering of the sludge is achieved at the same time during the harmless treatment. The needed equipment is simple and can be automatically operated.

Автор: Greg B. Kent, Zach J. Kent
Принадлежит: Individual

A horizontal flow water treatment method and wetland biofilter apparatus provides a chamber with impermeable outer walls spaced away from permeable interior walls of a media filtration bed such that a catch basin is formed between the outer walls and the interior walls. The catch basin creates an open area around the perimeter of the interior walls for influent water to fill within the open area on all sides before penetrating the filtration media, providing a large surface area for influent water to interact with the media filtration bed. The influent water enters the catch basin in a horizontal flow path to provide for pre-settling of particulates before making contact with the filtration media. The biofilter design increases the available surface area of the media filtration bed by up to four times for a given volume of water, and thereby minimizes the loading or infiltration rate on the media filtration bed.

Methods for the treatment of ballast water

Номер: US20130056648A1
Принадлежит: Fahs Stagemyer LLC

A process has been developed to selectively dissociate target molecules into component products compositionally distinct from the target molecule, wherein the bonds of the target molecule do not reform because the components are no longer reactive with each other. Dissociation is affected by treating the target molecule with light at a frequency and intensity, alone or in combination with a catalyst in an amount effective to selectively break bonds within the target molecule. Dissociation does not result in re-association into the target molecule by the reverse process, and does not produce component products which have a change in oxidation number or state incorporated oxygen or other additives because the process does not proceed via a typical reduction-oxidation mechanism. This process can be used for the remediation of water, particularly ballast water.
