Process for the oxidation of waste alkali under superatmospheric pressure

Номер: US20120085711A1
Принадлежит: Linde GmbH

The invention relates to a process for the treatment of a used waste alkali, in which the used waste alkali is oxidized at a superatmospheric pressure in the range from 60 bar to 200 bar. The pressure of the used waste alkali L is increased and then heated by indirect heat exchange. The heated used waste alkali is conveyed into a separator, wherein vaporized aqueous phase is separated from the used waste alkali. The resultant liquid phase is brought to the desired reaction pressure and introduced into an oxidation reactor. In the oxidation reactor, the used waste alkali is oxidized. In a first reaction, thiosulphates are formed from the sulphides. In a second reaction, the thiosulphates are converted into more stable sulphates.

Systems and methods related to desalination systems are described herein. According to some embodiments, the desalination systems are transiently operated and/or configured to facilitate transient operation. In some embodiments, a liquid stream comprising water and at least one dissolved salt is circulated through a fluidic circuit comprising a desalination system. In some embodiments, a portion of the desalination system (e.g., a humidifier) is configured to remove at least a portion of the water from the liquid stream to produce a concentrated brine stream enriched in the dissolved salt. In certain cases, the concentrated brine stream is recirculated through the fluidic circuit until the concentrated brine stream reaches a relatively high density (e.g., at least about 10 pounds per gallon) and/or a relatively high salinity (e.g., a total dissolved salt concentration of at least about 25 wt %). In certain embodiments, additional salt is added to the concentrated brine stream to produce an ultra-high-density brine stream (e.g., a brine stream having a density of at least about 11.7 pounds per gallon). Some aspects relate to a system that is configured to promote energy efficiency by recovering heat from the recirculated concentrated brine stream upon discharge from the fluidic circuit. 130-. Radial flow hydrothermal reactor for sludge thermal hydrolysis treatment

Номер: US20170008789A1
Принадлежит: XI'AN JIAOTONG UNIVERSITY

A radial flow hydrothermal reactor for a sludge thermal hydrolysis treatment is provided, relating to a field of sludge reduction treatment. An outer cylinder and an inner cylinder are successively sleeved in a cylindrical body of the reactor. A guiding cylinder is arranged between the outer cylinder and the inner cylinder. Guiding pipes are provided on a sidewall of the guiding cylinder. An agitator is arranged in the inner cylinder, so that sludge has low viscosity and good fluidity after reaching reaction parameters in the inner cylinder. Because an inlet pipe is arranged below the inner cylinder, the sludge enters the inner cylinder from bottom and flows out from top, and the inner cylinder has a diameter not large, which guarantees heating time. Because of a small height-to-diameter ratio of the radial flow hydrothermal reactor, the sludge after heating has the good fluidity, and flows outward radially in a large space of the outer cylinder. With an increased flowing radius, a flowing velocity decreases, and a hydrothermal reaction proceeds continuously, which guarantees reaction time within limited space of the reactor. Thus, the radial flow hydrothermal reactor is able to work continuously and has a compact structure. 15124132493. A radial flow hydrothermal reactor for a sludge thermal hydrolysis treatment , comprising: an agitator () , a cylindrical body () , an outer cylinder () and an inner cylinder () which are successively coaxially arranged in said cylindrical body () , a guiding cylinder () arranged between said outer cylinder () and said inner cylinder () , and guiding pipes () provided at a lower part of a sidewall of said guiding cylinder (); wherein:{'b': 4', '10', '11', '2', '8', '1', '2', '12', '8, 'a bottom part of said inner cylinder () is connected with an inlet pipe (); a discharging pipe () is provided at a bottom part of said outer cylinder (); an overflow groove () is arranged between said cylindrical body () and said outer cylinder (); ...

Dissolved oxygen may be generated by adding a peroxide to a fluid stream and then catalytically decomposing the peroxide to generate oxygen. As the peroxide is catalytically decomposed, the oxygen may solubilize in a surrounding fluid so as to provide dissolved oxygen. In some examples, the amount of peroxide added to the fluid stream is controlled such that substantially all of the hydrogen peroxide added to the fluid stream catalytically decomposes and yet the dissolved oxygen concentration of the fluid stream does not exceed a dissolved oxygen saturation limit for the fluid stream.
