A method and composition of making polymer products from thermoplastic polymers by melt processing. Cross-linked polyethylene are mixed with at least one thermoplastic matrix polymer to form a polymer composition which is melt-processed. The cross-linked polyethylene is formed by a finely divided powder with particles having a screened size of less than 600 μm and a Dof 200 to 400 μm. Cross-linked polyolefin can be used in a cost-effective and simple manner so that products generally considered a waste, such as scrapped cross-linked polyethylene pipes or unused cross-linked polyethylene discarded in e.g. pipe making processes, can be recycled and used as a starting material for polymer products. 1. A method of making polymer products from thermoplastic polymers by melt processing , wherein cross-linked polyethylene is mixed with at least one thermoplastic matrix polymer to form a polymer composition which is melt-processed , said cross-linked polyethylene being a finely divided powder formed by particles having a screened size of less than 600 μm and a Dof 200 to 400 μm.2. It is an object of the present invention to provide a thermoplastic elastomer composition excellent in softness, permanent compression set (both short- and long-term) and resistance to oil, and controlled in bleed-out of the softening agent. It is another object of the present invention to provide a formed article and composite formed article of the above thermoplastic elastomer composition. The present invention provides a thermoplastic elastomer composition containing (a) 100 parts by weight of at least one hydrogenated block copolymer, (b) 30 to 150 parts by weight of a non-aromatic-based softening agent for rubber and (c) 3 to 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin having a melting point of 70 to 140° C., determined by the DSC analysis, and melt viscosity of 400 to 100,000 cps at 140° C., and formed article and composite formed article thereof.

This invention relates to a pinhole-free, pinhole-resistant extrusion composition comprising at least one olefin polymer and to a method of making a pinhole-free, pinhole-resistant coated or laminated substrate. The invention uses either a single polymer composition or a polymer blend wherein the composition has a corrected or actual Goettfert melt strength value in the range of from about 0.01 to about 6.5 centiNetwons to provide a pinhole-free, pinhole-resistant extrusion coating, extrusion lamination, adhesive lamination or in-mold coating or the like. Suitable olefin polymers include high pressure, free-radical initiated ethylene polymers and homogeneously branched ethylene polymers with polymer blends of low density polyethylene and substantially linear ethylene polymers particularly preferred. The coatings, moldings, films or laminations are useful for various substrates including paperboard and can protect against product leakage in such applications as disposable cups for hot beverages.

Use of a homogeneous blend of a metallocene-catalysed medium density polyethylene (mMDPE) with low density polyethylene (LDPE), to produce blown films, this composition essentially consisting of from 0.5 to 99.5 % by weight of mMDPE and from 99.5 to 0.5 % by weight of LDPE, based on the total weight of the blend. The blend is optionally coextruded between layers of LDPE. The compositions of this invention have good processability and are used to make blown films which have the good optical properties of LDPE and the good mechancial and processing properties of MDPE.
