Ein farbiges Keramikpulver wird durch isostatisches oder biaxiales Pressen zu einem Körper im Grünzustand zusammengeprsst. Das gefärbte Keramikpulver wird aus einer Mischung einer Färbelösung, die aus Metallsalzen besteht, die in einen Keramikschlicker eingebracht und anschließend getrocknet wird, hergestellt. Eine Färbelösung kann zum Beispiel ein Metallsalz, ein Lösungsmittel, ein organisches Lösungsmittel, wie etwa Derivate von Propylenoxid und eine Säure umfassen. Eine solche Färblösung kann als Färbemittel für einen Keramikkörper verwendet werden. Die Lösung wird mit dem Keramikschlicker intensiv vermischt. Nach der Zugabe des Färbemittels kann zu dem Farbschlicker ein Bindemittel gegeben werden. Die Menge des zugegebenen Bindemittels kann von 0,5 Gew.-% bis 10 Gew.-% betragen. The above method can obtain a friction material with good mechanical properties, excellent friction and wear performances, stable friction coefficient at high temperature, good braking force and no heat recession.

A composite pigment based on Pb(II), Cr(VI) and silicic acid is made by treating fine-ground silica with excess aq. NaOH soln. to provide a suspension of activated silica and then forming simultaneously and directly on this activated silica, in aq. medium, mixed crystals of two different Pb salts of the chromate group. The salts may be Pb silicochromate and Pb hydroxychromate or neutral chromate. To the suspension of activated silica in NaOH soln. which may be partly neutralized, may be added neutral Pb chromate, or a basic Pb salt, e.g. Pb hydroxychloride, and an alkali metal chromate, e.g. Na (bi)chromate, may be reacted directly with the activated silica suspension. The final product may be dried or calcined. The pigment is used in anticorrosion coatings for metal and for road-marking paints.
