This invention relates to novel whitening agents for cellulosic substrates. The whitening agents are comprised of at least two components: at least one chromophore component and at least one polymeric component. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to ultraviolet light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. The whitening agents are further characterized by having a dispersion component value of the Hansen Solubility Parameter of less than or equal to about 17 MPa 0.5 . This invention also relates to laundry care compositions including but not limited to liquid and/or powder laundry detergent formulations and rinse added fabric softening (RAFS) compositions that comprise such whitening agents.

Detergents useful for cold-water cleaning and mid-chain headgroup and alkylene-bridged surfactants useful therein are disclosed. The mid-chain headgroup surfactant has a C-Calkyl chain and a polar group bonded to a central zone carbon of the alkyl chain. The invention relates to cleaning or detergent compositions comprising polypeptides exhibiting beta-glucanase activity, optionally comprising one or more amylases and/or one or more proteases and uses thereof in cleaning or detergent applications and processes such as cleaning hard-surfaces, dish wash and laundering. The present invention relates to polypeptides having beta-glucanase activity, catalytic domains, beta-glucan binding domains and polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides, catalytic domains or beta-glucan binding domains. This invention relates to novel whitening agents for cellulosic substrates. The whitening agents are comprised of at least two components: at least one chromophore component and at least one polymeric component. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to ultraviolet light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. The whitening agents are further characterized by having a dispersion component value of the Hansen Solubility Parameter of less than or equal to about 17 MPa. The stabilization of non-subtilisin enzymes by certain subtilin inhibitors in liquid detergents is particularly effective when the concentration of the subtilisin inhibitor is higher than a concentration C. 1. A series of natural soaps, both liquid and solid, and methods of making thereof, which have a synergistic effect when formulated with anti-redeposition ingredients in laundry applications both in synthetic and natural textiles and fabrics. In particular, it relates to an automatic dishwashing detergent composition comprising a new protease. The automatic dishwashing detergent composition provides improved cleaning and finishing.
