A method and apparatus for imparting false twist to a short staple yarn delivered from a nip of a pair of front drafting rollers before ring spinning. Downstream of the nip, the twisted yarn is drawn sequentially across first and second runs of travelling endless belts, such that the yarn wraps about a first convex surface of the first run, then passes between the first and second runs, before wrapping about a second convex surface of the second run. Friction between each of the first and second convex surfaces and the yarn imparts the false twist in a common direction. Maintaining a differential between first and second linear speeds of the first and second runs, respectively, has been found to reduce yarn defects, particularly the nep count. 1. A method of imparting a false twist to a short staple yarn delivered from a nip of two front drafting rollers , before ring spinning of the yarn , the method comprising:drawing the yarn sequentially across first and second runs of travelling endless belts, such that the yarn sequentially exits from the nip and wraps about a first convex surface of the first run, then passes between the first and second runs, and thereafter wraps about a second convex surface of the second run, whereby friction between the yarn and each of the first and second convex surfaces applies a respective torque to the yarn, each torque tending to twist the yarn in a common direction, andmaintaining the first and second runs at different respective first and second linear speeds.2. A composite low-twist towel that is formed of three parts: terry yarn, ground warp yarn and weft yarn. The ground warp yarn and the weft yarn are normal towel yarns and the terry yarn is a composite low-twist yarn. The composite low-twist yarn is composed of two yarns of different thickness, among them, the spun yarn is synthetic fiber spun yarn or filament yarn, and the thick yarn is the pure cotton yarn or the blended yarn of pure cotton and other fibers. A frictional false twister is disclosed. The twister has a plurality of rotating friction plates located between the nip of the front rollers and the yarn guide. The friction plates are staggeringly arranged for rubbing a twisted yarn. The spinning direction of the twisted yarn is opposite to the rotating direction of the friction plates. A method for processing a strand-type fiber bundle includes sending the fiber bundle to an air nozzle of a pre-spinning machine used to produce roving. During normal operation, a twist is imparted to the fiber bundle via a vortex air current within the air nozzle to form the roving, wherein the roving leaves the air nozzle through an outlet and is deposited in or on a receptacle. Normal operation of the pre-spinning machine is interrupted in a stop phases during which roving is not produced by the air nozzle. A start-up phase is commenced between the stop phase and subsequent normal operation wherein the roving produced during the stop phase is discarded via a roving discharge after leaving the air nozzle when quality of the roving does not meet a desired specification. The roving discharge is deactivated when the quality of the roving meets the desired specification and the roving removed by the roving discharge is separated from the roving.

GBAB- GB2104923 B A single-head drawing device having a bobbin take-up and wherein a sliver-guide device, located immediately upstream of the drive roller of the spindle on which the bobbin is formed, is constituted by roving or sliver twister shaped as a helix supported by slider mounted slidably along a guide parallel to the axis of the drive roller; the sliver guide device on its slider being controlled in such a way as to perform alternating displacements along the guide parallel to the axis of the drive roller by a control lever supported by a shaft perpendicular to the axis of the drive roller; characterised in that the twister comprises an intermediate section formed by a round bar shaped as a helix, one end of which is fixed to a funnel in the form of a ring with a radial through slot and that the other end is fixed to a condenser constituted by a bushing having its aperture co-axial with the said helix and with the funnel.

A folded yarn has a drafting zone for two rovings to be drawn to a triangular configuration. The junction point at the apex is influenced by a false-twist unit. The two-fold yarn produced is then spun on a ring spinning spindle. The appts. is also claimed. Pref. the rovings are taken off the bobbins and through the drafting zone. The triangle has to have sides which do not exceed half the average staple length, in order to avoid excessive breakages. The prodn. speed and amount of twist inserted also affects the final quality. By means of a false-twist unit the apex can be correctly positioned. The unit may be an airjet twister, a friction device, or a false-twist spindle. The two-fold false-twisted thread is then spun on the ring spindle. ADVANTAGE - There are fewer breaks between drafting zone and twsit point, and the relative factors for quality prodn. are controlled.

[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 22, 1947.] [Classes 120(ii) and 120(iii)] A textile spinning machine wherein false twist is inserted in a roving or slubbing between pairs of drawing rollers has the delivery rollers constructed as solids of revolution generated by a flat curve formed by two circular arcs of equal radius joined to lie on opposite sides of the common tangent at their junction, which is a point of inflexion. Preferably, the convex surface of one delivery roller fits into the concave surface of the other. The delivery rollers 15, 16 may be mounted on brackets 17, 18 pivoted at 19, so as to be adjustable in inclination. Pointers 39, 40 on the brackets 17, 18 indicate the angular displacements on a dial 41. Drive to the rollers 15, 16 is by hollow. flexible driving shafts 28, 29 and the rollers are urged together by a spring 33 adjusted by a stop 34. Feed rollers 11, 12 are adjustable relatively to the delivery rollers 15, 16, the distance between the two pairs being indicated on a scale by a pointer 37. Two or more pairs of rollers shaped in a similar manner to the rollers 15, 16 may be arranged in succession, in order to provide two or more drafting stages. The rollers may be made of a ceramic composition or a plastic material. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an arrangement wherein the, rollers 15, 16 are replaced by a pair of rollers, each of which is composed of a cylindrical part and a solid of revolution generated by a segment of an ellipse. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.

An ammonia removal process is performed in a high-temperature and high-pressure tank so that residual ammonia in a fabric is evaporated. The evaporated ammonia is collected and then fed back to a mercerizing process for continuous use. The present invention also provides a production line including a spinning unit having a false twisting device, a dyeing unit configured to realize the dyeing process, and a liquid ammonia finishing unit consisting of a fabric mercerizing device, an ammonia removal device, an ammonia recycling device and a controller.

Classes 120(1), 120(2), and 120(3) In the production of packages of draw. frame slivers, sliver delivered from the draw frame drafting system is passed through a uni-directionally driven rotatable twist tube, the drive to which is interrupted intermittently whereby oppositely handed false twists are imparted to the sliver along alternate predetermined lengths of sliver, the sliver then being wound on to a spindle or bobbin to form cross-wound packages. As shown Fig. 1, Sliver 28 from a draw frame head 10 is delivered by calender rollers 30 to an intermittently rotated twist tube 12, situated about 15 inches from rollers 30, followed by calender rollers 14, 16, 18. Tube 12 is belt driven from an electric motor which is stopped and started at intervals by a cam-operated switch. The tube is rotated while about 11 inches of sliver are fed to the sliver passing through rollers 14, 16, 18 having a right hand twist and about 11 inches of sliver extending from tube 12 towards rollers 30 having a left hand twist. The tube is then stopped while the 11 inches of left hand twisted sliver is fed through the tube, after which it is caused to rotate again and repeat the sequence. The sliver with alternate lengths of opposite twist is then cross-wound on to a bobbin 66 held by brackets 62 pivoted to a reciprocating support 60, the wound sliver package being urged by springs 71 towards a driving roller 68. Each drawing head 10 produces two slivers which are wound into two separate packages on a single bobbin. The packages are used in the creel of a ring spinning frame 80, Fig. 3. The improved false-twist device for spun fibres carries out both the false twist and the control of the fibres. It consists of a rod 3 twisted helically on itself along its longitudinal axis and movable in rotation about said longitudinal axis. A baffle 4 located at the downstream end of the rod 3 makes it easier to twist the spun yarn 1. The surface of the rod in close contact with the fibres ensures the control of the latter, particularly when they must slide relative to one another. The rod is seated on the inside of and is fixed to a tube driven in rotation about its longitudinal axis.

A creel 1 with twisting devices is capable of directly supplying twisted yarns from bobbins carrying non-twisted yarns to a loom or a warper, and of producing not only normal fabric but also a fabric having a low weft density woven at a higher rate or a fabric using hard-twist yarns as warps. A plurality of rotatable spindles 8, each carrying a bobbin 3 on which a non-twisted yarn 2 is wound, are arranged on a frame 18. The yarns 2 withdrawn from the bobbins 3 on the spindles 8 are twisted and arranged to form a yarn sheet 19. The spindles 8 are rotatably secured via bearings to the frame 18 of the creel 1 at the center of a rotary shaft section 8' which is arranged in a horizontal direction. On both ends of the rotary shaft section 8', a section for supporting the bobbin 3 carrying the non-twisted yarn 2 is formed, on which a two-for-one twisting device 21 is provided.
