The fabric prepared according to the present invention has the following advantages: it has smooth surface and soft feel, is waterproof, antifouling and antistatic, has excellent anti-wrinkle properties, has the luster and texture of natural leather material, and is good in breathability and moisture penetrability, it can be used for making both winter clothing and summer clothing, can be water-washed or dry cleaned, it has no need for ironing, is easy to care for, etc.

The present invention relates to woven tubular nanotextiles, fabrication thereof using a weaving apparatus, and use thereof in vascular graft applications. The woven nanotextile conduit is 0.1 to 50 mm in diameter and includes a multitude of hierarchically arranged nanofibers. They are made from low strength bundled nanoyarns containing thousands of nanofibers with improved mechanical strength. The weaving apparatus interweaves the warp and weft yarns in longitudinal and transverse directions, resulting in a flexible and strong woven product. The physical and biological properties of the woven nanotextile were significantly enhanced when compared to non-woven nanofibrous form and conventional medical textiles. The nanotextile displayed superhydrophilic behavior in an otherwise hydrophobic material and when implanted as a vascular graft was robust, suturable, kink-proof and non-thrombogenic, with complete endothelialization of the graft luminal area.

Fibres are formed of PVA homopolymer that has been highly crystallised by post drawing or by heat annealing. PVA fibre is insol. at temps below 37 deg. C., but is water soluble at some temps above 37 deg.C. Fabric article is a drape, towel, cover, overwrap, gown, head cover, fire mask, shoe cover, sponge, dressing, tape, underpad, diaper, wash cloth, sheet, pillowcase or napkin. Pref. fabric can be woven or knitted or nonwoven, e.g. spun-bonded, melt blown, wet laid and hydroentangled, or thermally bonded, after hydroentangling; 30-70 percent of the fabric surface is melted by thermal bonding. Fabric has a weight of 25-80 g/sq.yd. Fibres are pref,. water soluable only at temps. above 50 deg. C., esp above 90 deg.C. Fibre size is 0.5-5.0 denier, pref. 1.0-2.0 denier, esp 1.2-1.5 denier.
