Polyolefine or polyvinylidene chloride filaments are dyed with a monoazo dyestuff, the aromatic nucleus or nuclei of which is or are substituted by one or more straight- or branched-aliphatic side-chains with at least seven carbon atoms. The dye may be applied from aqueous suspension, or may be produced in situ by applying, separately and successively, the diazotized amine and the coupling component and then effecting coupling on the fibre. The dyestuffs employed in the examples are: (1) p-cetyl-aniline --> p-nonyl phenol, formed on the fibre; (2) p-amino-octyl-benzene --> b -naphthol, applied from aqueous suspension; (3) p-cetyl-aniline --> p-cetyl-phenol, applied from aqueous suspension; and (4) p-octadecyl-aniline --> b -naphthol, applied from aqueous suspension.

The present invention relates to a monoazo-based dye for acid detection, which changes color upon addition of or exposure to acid and, more specifically, to a dye which changes color within a few seconds upon exposure to a trace amount of a strong acidic material, and a fiber product using the same. The monoazo-based dye for acid detection according to the present invention has an effect of reacting with a trace amount of strong acid to change color, and returning to the original color when the acid is removed. Also, a fiber dyed with the dye of the present invention exhibits high color fastness and thus is not discolored and faded by laundering or sunlight. In addition, there is an effect of preventing secondary contamination at an accident scene and serious accidents from harmful environmental factors, when protective or working clothes are manufactured applying the effect, thereby providing a function enabling workers to recognize an exposure to acid in real time in the case of an exposure to an acid-contaminated environment. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the acid is in the form of a gas or a liquid.3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the acid is a strong acid in the range of pH 0.1 to pH 5.4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the acid is hydrochloric acid claim 1 , hydrofluoric acid claim 1 , sulfuric acid claim 1 , or a mixture thereof.5. Process for the printing or pad-dyeing of mixed fabrics Abstract of the Disclosure Described is a process for the tone-in-tone printing or padding of mixed fabrics from cellulose materials and poly-esters, wherein mixed fabrics are printed or padded with a printing paste or padding liquor containing at least one dyestuff of the formula wherein F represents the radical of a disperse dyestuff free from groups dissociating in water, X represents an electron-attracting bridge-member, R1 represents an ethylene radical which can be optionally further substituted, and Y represents the -OSO3H-group or the radical , wherein R2 and R3 denote alkyl groups, different from each other and containing 1 to 8 carbon atoms, which together possess at least one water-solubilising group, subsequently dried, fixed and finished. By this process there are obtained on mixed fabrics tone-in-tone dyeings which are characterised by level shades and good fastness properties, such as fastness to light, wet processing and rubbing.

The invention relates to a method for marking a textile product. This cannot be identified, or only with great effort, especially in the processed state, so that imitations by other manufacturers are possible with corresponding losses for the producers. This problem is solved according to the invention in that the textile product is provided with a visually undetectable marking which can only be detected with a corresponding probe.
