Dye prepns. contg. at least one dye or optical brightener suitable for transfer printing, with particle size below 15 mu m. Use of dyes less finely milled than the usual 0.01-2 mu m and without usual thickeners, e.g. cellulose derivs., added during milling, allows more universal applicn., by stirring into any type of medium. Prepared printing pastes can be concentrated or modified without affecting their viscosity. Less dye is lost by absorption of fine particles into porous carriers. Pastes with high concns. of dye can be made, and absence of thickeners allows machines for printing the carrier to be run at up to twice usual speeds. The prepns. are esp. suitable for producing dark shades and for use on carpet materials, since they ensure a high applicn. of dye.

Process with no heating for transfer pattern printing of a moist cellulose, wool or silk textile web, and an apparatus as well as a pattern carrier web for use in the process

Номер: US5196030A
Принадлежит: Billerud Ab, Dansk Tansfertryk AS

In a process for transfer pattern printing of a moist textile web consisting wholly or predominantly of natural fibers, in particular cotton, and/or artificial fibers on the basis of cellulose, the pattern carrier web is a web of paper or a paper-like material which carries a pre-printed pattern of a water soluble or dispersable dye. After wetting of the textile web to a carefully controlled moisture, the textile web is joined with the pattern carrier web and the joined webs are compressed at a suitable pressure so that the pattern can be transferred without using heat. The advantage is that it will be possible to avoid both heating and use of organic solvents. It is also possible to transfer a pattern to a colored textile web since the textile web may be wetted before hand with an aqueous dye solution or dispersion instead of undyed liquid.

A transfer medium is produced by capturing an image and printing heat sensitive ink solids in the form of the image by thermal means onto a receptor. The image may then be transferred from the medium to the object by applying sufficient heat to the medium to cause the heat sensitive ink to permanently bond to the object in the desired image. The heat sensitive transfer ink is printed onto the receptor to prepare the medium by thermal printing means at a temperature which will release and print the ink, but which is below the temperature which will cause the heat sensitive ink to bond permanently. The image may then be transferred from the medium onto the object at a higher temperature which will cause the sensitive ink to permanently bond to the object.

A method of printing a liquid ink which is produced from a heat activated dye which is selected from a limited group of dyes which are capable of transfer at low energy. A printer which uses liquid ink, such as an ink jet printer, prints an image onto an intermediate substrate medium. The dyes contained in the ink are not substantially activated during the process of printing on to the medium. The image formed by the printed ink is transferred from the medium to a final substrate by the application of heat and pressure for a short period of time to activate the ink. The dye and dispersing/emulsifying agent(s) are selected from a limited group to produce an ink which permits thermal transfer at low energy, with the resulting image, as deposited on the final substrate, having an optical density of 1.0 or greater.

The present invention relates to a nylon transfer printing method using a high washing fastness yellow dye composition. More specifically, the present invention relates to a nylon transfer printing method which forms a new composition of eco-type dye compounds, wherein the dye compounds have similar melting points and compatibilities and especially have excellent color fastness to washing that is more than or equal to 4 grade. Thus, a problem that the dye compounds have 3 class or less of color fastness to washing, which is generated when a nylon fiber is conventionally transfer printed, can be overcome and development on dyes having 4 class or more of color fastness to washing can be reviewed. Accordingly, sticking properties, build-up properties, and overall fastness (to washing, friction, and sunlight) can be highly improved.

The present invention provides an apparatus, system and method in which a pulse heater is used to apply dye to a receiver in a rotary heat processing equipment. A sandwich receiver consisting of two dyed donor papers was then exposed to a constant heat generated from the drum to disturb the heat with the belt and to cause a phase change of the dye in the donor paper for a phase change from solid to gas Which allows the receiver to absorb and capture the phase change dye for a more saturated and excellent finish.
