STABILIZATION OF LOOPED FABRIC SURFACES BY FINE-SCALE EMBOSSING

Номер: CA0003062894A1
Принадлежит: GOWLING WLG (CANADA) LLP

A fabric made of yarns interlooping with each other or passing through an inner layer at looping intervals. The fabric is embossed with a micro-pattern extending into the yarns or into a layer underneath the fabric. The micro-pattern contains a pre-defined pattern of a plurality of binding points attaching the yarns to the inner layer or to the added underlayer. This micro-pattern has an inter-point spacing between adjacent binding points that is less than the interlooping intervals. The fabric can also be embossed with a macro-pattern separate from and coarser than the micro-pattern. The macro-pattern establishes a desired aesthetic in the fabric, and the micro-pattern does not interfere with the desired aesthetic.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING TEXTILE PRODUCTS, PRODUCTS OBTAINABLE THEREFROM AND METHOD TO RECLAIM THE PRODUCTS

Номер: CA0002913378A1
Принадлежит: SMART & BIGGAR

The present invention discloses a method for manufacturing an optionally laminated textile product, the method comprising the steps of: a) providing a first sheet with yarns fastened thereto where the first sheet has a first surface and a second surface and the yarns extend from the first surface of the first sheet, b) heating the second surface of the first sheet thereby at least partly melting the yarns fastened to the first sheet to bond the yarns to the first sheet; c) exposing the second surface of the first sheet to pressure; d) optionally imparting a mechanical force on the molten fraction of the yarns in a direction parallel to the surface of the first sheet; e) applying hot melt adhesive to the second surface of the first sheet; and f)optionally applying a dimensionally stable second sheet to the second surface of the first sheet; with the proviso that where the optional step (f) is absent then step (d) is not optional.

A unique fabric construction having a backing fabric and a face fabric. At least one of the fabrics is made at least in part of yarns formed from synthetic fibers which have incorporated thereinto an antimicrobial agent. In some embodiments a tie yarn joins the two faces in plated relation. Even with minimal contact of the yarns in the two fabrics, the antimicrobial agent migrates from within the treated fibers in the one fabric to the surface thereof and transfers to the yarns in the other fabric. Thus there is imparted antimicrobial protection to both fabric faces while maintaining the advantages of naturally occurring, untreated fibers in one of the fabrics.

Принадлежит: Faurecia Automotive Industrie SAS

The present invention relates to a piece of interior equipment of a motor vehicle, comprising a nonwoven web (12) of needled fibers (14, 16) forming a pile velvet layer (18) and a sole (20). The fibers (14, 16) of the web comprise at least 50% by weight and preferably at least 75% by weight of hollow fibers (14); and the velvet density of the web is greater than or equal to 0.04 g / cm 3 and preferably between 0.04 g / cm 3 and 0.06 g / cm 3. These features lead to a velvet that is easy to clean solid waste, while limiting production costs.
